I got my hair established on May 27, 2019, and it's been over a year since my establishment so why not document the journey! Not everyone's journey will look the same, but with patience, patience, and more patience, your hair will thrive. This video is perfect!! I'm getting mine done in 2 weeks and I have been trying to see what my hair would look like!I have VERY thick hair very similar to yours! And my hair is about 10-11 inches so similar in length too! so thanks to you I got a little peek into what my hair might look like when I get my sisterlocs! and now I'm even more excited!! I was nervous but even in the beginning or with the shrinkage stages your hair looked full from the thickness of your hair so I'm not as worried anymore! All locs are beautiful but I'm glad I finally found a video showing before and after pics especially someone who has a thick head of hair like me! Thank you♡♡♡

I had traditional locs and I combed them out because I wanted them smaller (which is what I should have done when I did them the first time) but now I'm super excited to redo my locs at the size that I want them and your video was just the inspiration that I needed thank you so much. I did a lot of braid outs and curly styles which helped me retain to length because they would stretch out the locs. However, I would say embrace the shrinkage! It is all part of the journey. I love looking back and seeing how far my hair has gone. and once they mature and hang more they start to gain some serious length.

Thanks so much! My hair is naturally 4c, like very 4c, so they occasionally have a bit of curl at the bottom of my hair (eventually those might lock) which adds to volume. As for waves, I believe that might be due to weeks-old braid outs from washing my hair haha. Sometimes the curls drop over time but leave me with some nice waves.

@@myrnasthilaire4494 You're very welcome! I got my Sisterlocks installed this January but my 4B/4C hair was very long and completely relaxed. As a result, my hair is taking its sweet time to lock and my relaxed hair is so flat. The new stuff seems to be growing in nicely. I think it'll have some bounce to it.

Oh hi! So sorry, I did not see the question, thank you for your patience. No, I did not blowdry my hair before installation. It is better that your hair is in its natural state! I was told to wash and not use any type of conditioner or even products in my hair. My hair was completely natural. No leave-ins, no blowdry or any other type of manipulation. I would suggest the same if you are doing DIY locs. Blowdrying loosens the curls and so will make the interlocking process harder.

Hi! To start my locs I did not add extensions. It was started with just my own hair. As I would experiment with styles, I would braid in loc extensions (that can be removed) for things like box braids and passion twists.
