I've had my locks since 1997, so that's about 26 years now. They're past my bum. For the most part I was washing, treating and re-twisting them once a month at the salon. When I moved to Dubai in 2012. I steadily started to loose my edges, partly because of the high salt content in the water here. For the last couple years now I've been alternating between an Aloe Vera and hot oil (olive oil and coconut oil) pre-poo 24hrs before washday. This has strengthened my edges, they are filling in, and my locks in general are feeling thicker and stronger to the touch. I'm not where I want to be yet, but I'm moving in the right direction.

Yes, Gurrrl! I've been loc'd since 1999. I started out with 127 traditional locs, and now have combined them too 87 locs, and I semi-freeform!

I'm glad we got an update. It was because of you that I chose Ifraj and it was the best decision ever. I can not believe that in less than 2 years, I have such full locs. Ladies, please loc your hair if you have issues retaining length. It will be the best decision of your life. Free yourself from the cycle of other people's hair and love yourself like you never have before.

I’ve been watching your videos when I got Sisterlocks in 2021 .. I’m 4 months off 2 years and loving every minute… wished I did it sooner but everything happens for a reason… I have no regrets.. I’ll take your tip on wearing a bonnet while I’m chillin in the house .. your locs are gorgeous and I can’t wait to see your update when you style them.. your advice is great I did my due diligence and my consultant spends a max of 2 1/2 hours doing my retires ….. enjoy the process everyone this is our hair and our beauty 🌹

beautiful locs…I’ve been loc’d for two years and love it…like you…I’ve stayed with what I learned from the beginning and they are great…I did change loctician after my install because of relocating…a great loctician is key to successful beautiful locs

I have micro locs and when my consultant completed my hair she left the ends loose and I was not happy, however when I discovered that they are curly on the end like yours, I knew she knew exactly what she was doing. It was one of the biggest and scariest decisions I ever made, but it was well worth it. No turning back and I agree the freedom is everything.

I’ve had Sisterlocks for eight years best decision & investment I ever made people balk at the price but when you compare it to weaves, wigs, perms, etc. it’s not too much different. Plus you’re not spending money on a bunch of products. My locks are nearing 24 inches long. Goal was to get to butt length but now I plan to cut them soon - just trying to work up the courage 😊

I’m loving this. Thank you for the update. I was natural for like 15 years. I put in a relaxer last august. Right now I’m growing my hair out to get sisterlocs. I have been growing it out since Aug of last year. So this august will make a year natural again. My plans are to get sisterlocs next year around this time.

Your hair looks really nice. It suits you. I watched your wash routine and see that your maintenence is really low and doesn't take much time at all. You are just really cognizant of being consistent with taking good care of your hair everyday. Your hair is obviously really healthy. My hair is about as as long as yours and it is straight and moderately fine. If I want my hair to have a bit of volume and look nice, it will take me at least 30 mins after the shower to apply product and blow dry it. So you are putting in less time and you have a special hairstyle that is unique and lovely without having to heat style.

I'm coming up on 15 months sisterlocked. Man I wish I knew about this like 10 years ago LOL. I have just started seeing lint specks in the ends of 3 locks😮 I may have to color them in if it gets crazy. Other than that, I'm loving this freedom! Your hair is growing out beautifully btw!

I have microlocs and never knew about them or sisterlocs. I definitely would have gotten then in 2007 when I went natural again. At 8 months and loving it. My edges are thin so trying to grow them back so I can add more to the front!

I’m all natural and have been for 12yrs and I love it, I don’t follow what other natural hair people do, I know what works for my hair and if I stop chopping my hair it would be a lot longer but I’m good with it, your hair looks very well maintained, my cousin’s hair loc’d and she loves it!

Finally found my consultant well actually she’s a trainee which at first I wouldn’t even entertain. Just got my tester locks last week and appointment is scheduled Jan 2024! I’m m excited. I waited over a year from when I thought I would have gotten them. Im excited! A bit nervous about the scalpy phase if I experience that and about the shrinkage cause I already shrink alot in my loose state. Nevertheless-EXCITED!!

I have dine hair with medium density as well and they will thicken up a lot over time. It may start out looking a bit sparse but that phase was over with really quickly for me… like 3 weeks.
