Dennis O'Brien is a private investigator, and he is hired to place bets on a rigged fight, only to get framed for murder when the plan goes awry. Investigating on his own, he uncovers betrayals and double-crosses but is repeatedly knocked out and blamed by police. In a second case, Dennis is hired to pose as a missing husband, leading to a string of deaths and a final confrontation that reveals a twisted family plot and a series of murders driven by greed.
