@All Ages of Geek So The Pilot is definitely canon it takes place a week before episode 1 of the new hazbin hotel series. The Addict music video is also cannon so you should react to that as well. The comics “Dirty Healings” which explains how Angel Dust met Charlie & Vaggie is cannon, and so is the comic “A Day in the Afterlife" which is just a short story on the radio demon. Both comics have videos on KZbin that you can react too

Okay, you’ve gotten a sense of the difference between Sinners and Hellborns, which a lot of people don’t know beforehand and get confused as to why some characters in either show are in Hell when they don’t seem that bad: Sinners are human souls sent to Hell, Hellborns, as the name implies, were born in Hell rather than being sent there as punishment, just like Charlie. Among Hellborns are imps and hellhounds, who feature in Helluva Boss _Disclaimer: Only recently did I find out the fandom site for these may not be entirely accurate. So take what I share that isn’t depicted on screen with a grain of salt_ When a demon dies in hell their energy posesses a random inanimate object like furniture or a tool. You can see things in the background with eyes Besides an entirely new cast and a handful of design changes, the pilot appears to still be canon. It’s been referenced in the main show. There’s also the music video Addict focussing on Angel Dust and Cherri Bomb that came out before the main show did, which I definitely recommend, and an online comic showing how Angel came to be at the hotel Hellborns can procreate, but apprently Sinners can’t as part of their punishment

I believe there's a whole new cast for the show starring Broadway singers/voice actors, there are subtle changes in character designs and the pilot seems to have happened a week before episode 1.

Yep. Most of the people who worked on this got scrapped for bigger names. It was pretty heartbreaking after the years of marketing and conventions they did to hype up the show.

@@DarthCaedus7 Nah, fam, it ain`t that deep. They were KZbinrs and put on a last performance of their own accord. Plus, in the Pilot they had to use different VAs for the speaking and singing voices which would obviously be exhausting in an actual series and the recording was extremely rushed, a lot of the VAs and animators did not get along at all!Also, the Pilot Sir Pentious VA William Stamper was not a great person, let`s just leave it at that fer the sake of all our sanity! Additionally, aside from Lucifer whom Vivienne originally pictured being voiced by Weird Al Yankovic whom she couldn`t afford so she went with Jeremy Jordan(Which is ironic because he voiced Light Yagami, the Self-proclaimed "God of the New World" in the English Dub album for the Japanese/South Korean Death Note Musical) she actually pictured the characters being voiced by the Amazon Prime voice cast who are mostly professional Broadway singers and actors and the Pilot VAs were actually coached to sound somewhat like younger versions of the voice cast Vivienne always pictured in her head which was the Amazon Prime voice cast .

@@DarthCaedus7 Also, "bigger names"? People outside of the fancier ends of Broadway, Hollywood and the Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss fandom have no idea who the VAs are in other things. Both the Pilot and main series VAs. Keith David and Alex Brightman are the biggest names in the voice cast and that`s `cause they both have previously appeared in IPs based on earlier IPs from the `80s, `90s and early-mid 2000s.

Pretty sure everything in the pilot is canon and episode one of the show picks up just a few days after this ends. There is a different voice cast, mostly made up of Broadway actors that can sing their asses off. The animation style is also a little different, but not crazy different. You'll get more backstory about the inhabitants of hell and how strong they are, but Charlie's actually like the 2nd or 3rd most powerful - she's just too nice to flex that strength and constantly gets disrespected for it.

Helluva Boss is essentially a spinoff from this show. And, no, that wasn't Blitzo, just another imp. Different patterns on the horns. The pilot is at least roughly canon, and the series starts right after this - though it repeats some of the info here as they can't assume everyone saw this on KZbin.

Technically speaking that was Blitzo. It's his concept version as is the appearances of Moxxie and Loona in the crowd too. Helluva Boss spun off when Big decided to give them their own series after

Hazbin's pilot came first, then Helluva was a spin-off of it. The Helluva characters we see in the Hazbin pilot are basically prototypes of the character designs that were refined later for Helluva. Regarding Angel's question about being "double dead": usually, Sinners who are killed in hell just revive there after a bit. There are certain exceptions that leave them wiped from existence, like during exterminations, and... well, other things that I won't spoil until you've caught up on the series 😁

If a Sinner (former human souls that got sent to Hell) is "killed" they just sort of redrawn after a time. But if killed by holy weapons used by the Angels such as the spear Baggie keeps threatening with, they are just wiped out of existence. The pilot is mostly canon. The events happened, just the details have changed like the voices and designs. With Helluva Boss the initial pilot is non canon but still worth watching as it sets up the general premise of the show.

Awesome! Now go finish the rest of Helluva Boss while it’s on standby mode as well as Hazbin Hotel on whatever timely schedules can work out for you this year somehow! Both shows are in the same Vivziepop universe but they’re two different storyboards and they’re both just as equally or similarly good plot lines under different circumstances that won’t coincide or crossover with each other unless Vivziepop gives out the okay sign for it to happen altogether in the near future so maybe until further notice or whatever.

According to the creator, the pilot is soft-canon. In that you can assume that roughly the same events happen before the first episode, but some of the little details might no longer be 100% canon accurate.

Technically the pilot is still canon so this leads pretty much into the first episode which happens a few days later while they are still recovering from the extermination you saw in this pilot. You should have no issue just watching the shows episodes in order from here on though you might want to watch the Addict music video before you go further as it gives a bit more info and backstory.
