I love stories like this, humans who not only go out of their way to stop and make sure the dog is ok but show such compassion in fixing him up and finding him a wonderful home. The thought of where he would be had you not stopped is heartbreaking, both humans and dog got very lucky!

God bless these people who can take care of animals that have been left to fend for themselves!! It breaks my heart that people leave animals like this. I myself have 2 dogs & a couple cats, I would climb Mount Everest to take care of them. I am getting up in age & do not plan on anymore animals as each cross over the rainbow Bridge, but at that time, maybe I can donate time or some money to help others who do take in strays!!
