Sithole, 25, joined Tondela from B Sad ahead of the 2023/24 campaign and has featured 27 times across all competitions for the Portuguese side. However, Sithole now admitted that he did have talks over a return to South Africa with Amakhosi last year. “I’ve talked to Kaizer Chiefs, I think it was last season,” he said on PowerFM Sport. “And we didn’t continue with the negotiations until today. They didn’t submit an official offer, we were just talking and after that it stopped there. Sithole, though, did admit that he is Glamour Boys supporter and can never shut the door on his favourite club even though he has ambitions to stay in Europe for now. “That’s my club, I love Kaizer Chiefs,” he continued. “I can’t close the door to Kaizer Chiefs but for my age, what I want right now I would love to continue in Europe.” The strong midfielder also revealed that he feels ready for a bigger league in Europe after previous links to Serie A, Ligue 1 and Bundesliga. “I think I’m ready to compete wherever I can go, because I’ve been I’ve been in Europe for like six years, going into my seventh year,” he added. “So I’m ready. It’s not like I’m going to be in a in a completely new environment. Like whereas a South African boy is going to Europe for the first time. “I know what it expected for me and I know the advantage of the Europeans so it is not going to be like something new. So I think anywhere I can go right now, I’m more than ready.” The KZN Academy product, who moved to Europe in 2017, has made 18 appearances for Bafana so far.
