my club used to play sitting volleyball as a drill. it teaches you how to isolate your upper body, and it's actually really hard

Did it for drill in HS. I remember it being super hard at first but it did help with focus and helped me read my upper muscles better

that's actually incredible. they're really good! i can't even imagine trying to do this as a volleyball player, it looks so difficult to have to move your entire body using your core and arms AND have to be watching the ball and be ready to hit.

My guess, so they can dive, you can’t really dive in a wheelchair also they courts not very big so they don’t need to move very far also saves space wheelchairs can be quite big.

All of them are disabled, not every disabled person is completely unable to stand for this. Some just cannot stand for long periods of time due to light headedness or balance issues that aren't visible.

In sitting volleyball, many players are athletes who are amputees. In addition, two players on each team may have ‘minimal impairment’, which means their impairment may appear minimal but it may prevent them from competing in the conventional version of the sport. These injuries could include anterior cruciate ligament damage or missing fingers!
