My dad had an expert in genetics come out to our ranch in Lewistown MT in the late 90's from Washington State. They shared with us that the Best bloodlines for Registered Black Angus came from when my grandfather was working with his registered herd. Gail Ward Burleigh had sold land to improve his heard. The late Mr. Stevenson, founder of Basin Angus Ranch, had great eyes for disposition as he bought up my grandfather's bulls after much persistence in persuading him to sell. The skills in breeding were very much carried on by the Stevenson family and I believe perfected.
