Just pick up Beach walk, Jazz club, lazy Sunday morning, sailing day, and by the fireplace. They smell pretty good. 3 out of 5 I really like. I only got to where jazz club witch is 🔥 & lasted all day. Great protection!

Your number 1 is great Sebastian, but Whispers in the Library is awesome also. If you test it in store you won't get much out of it and just move to another fragrance, but after about an hour it is a stand-out and hangs in well. If you try hard enough you will get the old paper and stuffy old library vibe. No need to try hard with By The Fireplace though. It's a compliment getter. :)

Not to get off subject, but the reason Americans no longer eat chestnuts is that the American Chestnut Tree was nearly completely wiped out from a blight during the early 20th century and has yet to be replanted in any significant number. They were once abundant. That said, I really like By The Fireplace.

I'm such a huge fan of Maison Margiela, not just their fragrances but also their ready to wear clothes. Anyway, I currently have Jazz Club, By the Fireplace, Lazy Sunday Morning, At the Barber's, and Music Festival. Planning to buy Whispers in the Library and really curious about Bubble Bath. I live in Indonesia and the Maison Margiela's Replica fragrances are not easily available here. Anyway, my top 3 would be Jazz Club (smoky, boozy), By the Fireplace (the easiest choice, awesome longevity), and Whispers in the Library (creamy, woody). I just wished they didn't discontinued Tea Escape, a great release.

We had a chestnut tree in the yard when I was a kid and the outer husks are like baby porcupines and will murder your feet and even stick into your shoe soles. Never seen one growing anywhere around here since and that was like almost 30 years ago. BTF is nice. The smoky smell is almost too much but I like it more than JV dark rebels smoky smell.

Coffee break and jazz club I specifically wear in the fall and by the fireplace is my winter scent. I get tons of compliments on all of them. I really like Jazz Club, but the performance is terrible (on my skin) 1 hour max. But I have started to use it as a layering fragrance best combo to date has been layering with Zaharoff Signature Pour Homme. By The Fireplace is a solid release great performer also

It’s super super long lasting for me. It is possible that you’ve become nose-blind to it - because that’s how Baccarat Rouge 450 is for me , even though I know it’s a beast mode fragrance.

I bought a travel size Coffee Break hoping it would be more coffee bean or brewed coffee but all I really get is the lavender as well. Such a bummer. Currently on my hunt for the best coffee gourmand!

Whispers in the Library and Across Sands are my favorites from this house. I loved By the Fireplace when I first smelled it, but I find it less unique now after trying more sweet-smoky scents. By the Fireplace reminds me of Commodity’s Velvet except with less of a sweet-sour dimension to it than Velvet has. I prefer By the Fireplace over it.
