The Monster mansion was actually the original. It is alleged that after riding the Monster "Plantation" as it used to be called, a group of imagineirs at WDW began creating the Splash Mt. ride based on southern theme with the Brer Rabbit idea. It was one of the park’s original rides then called "Tales of the Okefenokee" in summer of 1967, and was a specific retelling of the Uncle Remus stories of Brer Rabbit. It was refurbished in 1980 to open in summer 1981 as Monster Plantation, getting away from the Brer Rabbit theme adding the monster audio animatronics we see today. It was rumored that the Disney Imagineers that worked on the Splash Mountain Project brought attention to the dark ride at SixFlags over Georgia due to Disney owning the intelectual property of Soung of the south and rather have the legal battle that would be long and drawn out, SixFlags just re-themed the ride. The ride was renamed in 2007 to be named "Monster Mansion" due to cultural sensitivity of the word "plantation" being used referencing the antebellum south and the time of agricultural chattel slavery in the US. Splash Mountain using the Brer Rabbit themeing opened in Walt Disneyland in 1989, Disney world in 1992, and Disneyland Tokyo in 1992.

I work at the park & it's the 2nd Six Flags park built. Six Flags Over Texas was the first. They will be open during Fright Fest on Friday's, Saturday's & Sunday's until Halloween then closes & reopens for Holiday in the Park during the Thanksgiving holiday & will remain open until just after the new year. The park looks great during the holidays up all in lights. The Batman, Mindbender, The Joker all in Gotham & Jokers Funhouse coaster were all the coasters you missed & all batman themed as well. The Dahlonega Mine Train is one of the 4 original rides in the park. The other 3 are the Sky Buckets, Log Jamboree & The Train. Monster Mansion was originally a ride based on Joel Chandler Harris's book of folktales which he wrote called Uncle Remus Tales. The ride was called Tales of the Okefenokee and was redone as Monster Plantation (now Monster Mansion). I've added a video link on information on that. I know you'll love it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qJjLeX-hprt4ZqM

Actually she is onto something! There is some link to Disney with monster plantation! The ride was opened with the park in 67. When it was opened it was inspired by the Uncle Remus stories! Goliath does have a rattle, but it is not that bad. Honestly B&M hyper coaster rattles don’t bother me because you have a super comfortable lap bar so the rattle doesn’t really affect the ride experience to me. If you have a B&M on a coaster with over the shoulder restraints, then there might be some issues there.
@michaelj.37745 жыл бұрын
That’s my home park. Fun fact the Superman ride was the second B&M flying coaster to ever be installed(if I’m wrong I’m sorry) and the first to be installed in America. This park is my childhood. The Superman is a unique credit because it’s the original Superman that they built and clone for other six flags parks! Also they reused the Georgia cyclone trains and got rid of the longer body PTC trains they used to have. So the ride is definitely heightened in terms of roughness and is far rougher than it used to be even 5 years ago before they closed Georgia cyclone. Almost broke a knuckle because the ride was so rough my hands got knocked off and through the front of the car. Also has knocked the wind out of me. Not fun >:(

Darth Murika not true. Every coaster in the park with the exception of the Joker Funhouse Coaster has atleast 2 trains. Dare Devil Dive has 4, and Superman has 3.
