1. Marrying a righteous person. 2. To understand one's responsibilities. ( I'm going to be questioned.) 3. The couple must encourage one another upon the worship of Allah Azzawajal. 4. There has to be great character from the husband and the wife. (Umar Radiallahu anhu said: " The foundation of a man is in his intellect and the honour of a man is in his deen and the manhood is in his character.") 5. To know what's the husband's rights are and to know what's the wife's rights. (Book recommended - " The rights of the spouses " by Shaykh Sulaymaan Ar Ruhayli Hafidhahullah) 6. To stay close to the masjid and islamic centre to have strong relationship with masjid and to be a part of the muslim community. Final point - You do your best and don't blame yourself as guidance is in the hands of Allah Azzawajal, we have example of Nuh alaihis salam.

@@stayalertuk Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu, Nuh alaihis salam was a prophet of Allah and who can be better at parenting than prohpets (may peace be upon all of them) still his son disbelieved and in it's a great lesson that one can only do their best but guidance comes only from Allah Azzawajal as Allah says "Indeed, [O Muḥammad], you do not guide whom you like, but Allāh guides whom He wills. And He is most knowing of the [rightly] guided." -(Al-Qasas:56)
