I wish Alois Podhajsky could know in the after life what a positive and lovely affect he had a non-horseman and a young Arabian. I was confounded until I stumbled upon his book and after that life became good for the horse and me. Thank you, dear master horseman.

I think horses are so much more beautiful with their heads held high than with their heads abusively pulled against their necks.

Great pics! The horses heads are not behind the vertical, terrific examples!

To give you some background on the pic of Manolo Mendez. The horse was 13 when this was photographed. He had australian stringhalt in his 5th, 6th and 7th year which delayed his training considerably as he could not be ridden months on end. This was his fifth or sixth piaffe under saddle so not at all confirmed work. You can see a photo of how he looked on the Manolo Mendez Dressage Facebook page in the "Brolga- Training Evolution" folder.

And this, dressage people, is how dressage is supposed to be. Obviously, most dressage people nowadays are lacking something.

+ Emily Iannuzzi Modern dressage is a total bastardization of the art of dressage.

Great pics of super piaffe . Bear in mind that dressage people have to piaffe in front of 1000s of people in a tense atmosphere at international shows . They also don’t have a long shanked curb either which undoubtedly helps . Yes I saw he snaffle pics too . So please don’t be too harsh , 99% of riders are working towards the same harmony be it classical or competition .

Beautiful pictures indeed, but the more I see, the more I think; pictures are nice, but movement is better! For example I have a 'snuff video' of Egon von Neindorf which shows Jaguar in a ugly way, a very ugly way, but still one could take one moment out off it which would be ideal. p.s. I still have great respect for all these riders.

+Karel Partouns I dunno some of those masters but I have seen videos os Karl, Oliveira and Mendez showing perfect piaffes, and some not as perfect, but depending mostly on the horse and also his level. Some horses "sit" better than others and some horses have such a long back that they'd have to literraly sit on the ground to keep their forelegs from coming back under the belly to help.

T fully understand what you are saying, but I do not get the relevance with my remark.
@DJBelbe8 жыл бұрын
+Karel Partouns just sayin that at least 3 of those masters are not "just pictures" they can/could do the real thing, as is proven by videos, not pictures.

As I pointed out before, I understand what you were saying, but it has no relevance with my earlier remark.
