What is Six Sigma?
Six Sigma is a set of quality improvement methods which are applied using carefully designed techniques and statistical tools to identify and eliminate errors and defects in any process
It is a Zero Defect Concept (3.4 PPM)

A Green Belt in Six Sigma possesses basic understanding of business concept and statistical analysis. He understands Six Sigma tools and applies them to solve quality problems after analyzing them. Green Belts are highly valuable to a company for their functional knowledge and expertise in improving the processes. The responsibilities of a Green Belt include leading a project and participating in team building exercises. They also provide assistance is collecting data for projects of Black Belt team leaders.

Six sigma is reduce variation and lean is reduce waste. Six sigma aims at a process performance at 3.4ppm and lean focus on improving speed of the process by eliminating rework. Lean Six Sigma combines these two approaches!
