Signs: 1. When you desire to love them beyond their comfort level. 2. The relationship brings more withdrawals than deposits. You are driving this entire relationship and this person is not participating. Audit the relationship: what is being subtracted from me and what is being deposited into me? 3. When you check in with yourself you realise you are completed off-track regarding your purpose and personal journey. 4. When you experience wanting them and detesting them at the same time. You want them and you don't want them. Cognitive dissonance. 5. When the person makes you chase them. 6. When you know, you can sense, that this person isn't right for you.

I had to say good bye to a person I hoped to become my best friend. At some point I realized that this lady, who was initially very nice and friendly, created a dynamics of power play, in which she wanted to be chased, just to reject my efforts later on. We often connect "playing hard to get" with romantic relationships, but there are plenty of people, who attempt to cure their inferiority complex by being ostentatiously unavailable to their friends or relatives (but only after creating something resembling a friendly bond). Once they know you're hooked (you like them, care about them, want to be in touch with them) - they turn the switch off, and become cold, distant and "busy". Yeah, that's narcissistic. I am sad, because I thought I finally met a person I really wanted to befriend.Well, her loss. I can confirm that my relation with this person ended exactly for the reasons mentioned by RC Blakes. All of them.

Wow! I have a narcissist man who I share a 16 month old daughter with. We recently broke up in September. He said we are not longer together because I moved out of our bedroom in September because he called me a Hoee and said that no man will ever love me and I’m only good for sex. I stayed in that room for almost a month before he addressed the situation, and his response to everything is “well I have no access to you so I’ll help you move if that’s what you’re going to do.” Mind you prior to this I’ve been going through constantly verbal abuse from him and him complaining about paying the mortgage (I pay the utilities.) we used to alternate paying the mortgage but since I had the baby and went back to work I wasn’t able to afford to do so. He even said he hates paying for me when we go out to eat and he’s the one who initiates going out to eat. I’ve been financially struggling for a year and he has made me feel unprotected, uncovered and unprovided for. Although I helped him get the home we share, which he publicly doesn’t give me credit for, I know I just need to leave the house behind and start a healthy life for my daughter and I.

Nothing is wasted. I'm in the same situation, been with a guy 3yrs and giving him my love, support, encouragement etc.. I told him just yesterday I can't go on like this and I'm ready to walk with God.. asked him if was ready to take the walk with me and give me what I needed as a man after 3yrs.. Why do i feel so bad that i ended it tho.. Not for me but for him. He's still battling scars from his divorce almist 6yrs ago, which he admitted. Told me he didn't want to get married again and ghosted me for a month after i broke down after we argued about something stupid. In that argument i told him i deserve better because he was very loud and disrespectful. I took him back after the month in which he blocked me for that month smh. Got back together 2 1/2 months ago and i told him just yesterday about how im ready to walk with God and do things different moving forward.. asked him if he can give me what i needed and he said No.. after 3yrs. I was willing to put my joy of becoming a wife on the back burner to be with him. I ended things yesterday and i feel bad that i hurt him but i can't continue on thus way.

Wow.. I'm married, and I can totally relate to #4. I try not to say hate but he has broken me and I want to leave but I live in fear. Not sure why because he doesn't add to my life in any way. Given him 30 years of my life waiting for change, but the change is not what was expected. It's not about infidelity, it's so much more. When I'm away from him I feel free, when I'm around him, I feel heavy. He's become so "spiritual" that I can't relate to him and we are unequally yoked. Not to mention he has undiagnosed schizophrenia and won't go for an evaluation because he feels like he is normal. WORD. All relationships can be based on these signs. A relationship of any type needs reciprocity. In the non Christian realm there is always much talk about unconditional love , that you have to give and give and give. There's nothing wrong with having expectations about the others behaviour in terms of treatment,it's not always an equal playing field but it is never without the other person giving back with love and care. Then boundaries are just as important letting the other person that you have a relationship with, that you'll give them one chance if they muck up but only the one , no one should be the whipping post for someone to beat on spiritually,emotional,verbally and physically. I’m struggling with leaving for good. I’ve been with him for three years and went through it all DV, cheating, lying, emotional abuse. It’s the cognitive dissonance of wanting him and hating him. I know god does not want me to be with this person. He has broken me. I have to chose my pain.

Amen! I have to let someone go that keeps making up reasons that i am the problem. I have done nothing to this man but tried to love this man. He wants me gone, its time for me to go. He has been tearing me down for a while now and then hides behind other things and says he loves me. I love him but he just doesn't love me. Its time for me to give him something i wont give myself until now: i need to walk away and be at peace. I need to let him go so he can have this life he wants without me....

Oh wow, you hit it!! You have 3’s desiring to love 10s or 8s excepting 4s based on societal norms. Nick- picking based on unrealistic expectations. Not excepting the person for who they are or where they are in life at the present time-misjudging them or demanding they be or become the desired. All the time becoming more bitter/ angry ( for some individuals), and unfulfilled. Just insane.
