First: I really enjoy your calm manner and clear methodical approach. I'm looking forward to more in the series. Second: Starnet++ is all the rage right now. I look forward to seeing more on this plus GIMP tutorials. Especially Layers, masking and background etc.

Thanks! I use Starnet in a couple of videos later, planning one on aligning & blending in gimp with masking. There are a lot of such videos out there, in mine I try to identify & use less well known stuff :)

@@BorealisLite I've seen a few GIMP videos. There a lots of Photoshop ones. Many GIMP videos show methods that don't really work that well, or are specific to just what is being worked on. One example is star masking. Many star masks I make have a funny black halo. That's how I got interested in starnet. I find you are covering broad concepts right from first video and slowly building on a good foundation, rather than "this is how I processed M42" all in a 10 minute video. I prefer your approach of slowly adding layers and explaining broad concepts useful in any Astro target. You are a good teacher Thanks for sharing.

Gary, as a complete newcomer to astrophotography (and astronomy in general), this whole series is excellent, top-quality material. Thank you for your time and contribution!

Thanks Daly! There many resources available for each of the many aspects of this activity. I just tried to touch on some of the less well know stuff. Regards.

Thanks for this! I had not investigated, rather became absorbed in the excellence of this software. Your comment brings some clarity to me. Regards
