I bought this in July on sale. To me FH4 is more aesthetically pleasing than 5, especially with the seasons mechanic constantly changing the visuals. Top tip for using a 1060 (I used to use a 6GB) turn your reflections and shadows down a bit, it helps to lower stutters, you can make the game in motion look pretty much the same as maxed out with a bit of granular tweaking.

City Car Driving is good for that too. Not sure if they've got UK mode, but they have Australia which gets you on the correct side of the road at least. It's specifically about driving like you're supposed to, not racing around without a care for safety.

This game has something that the newer FH5 does not have... I don't know what it is, it's hard to explain. Yes, the graphics are better in FH5, but FH4 has a soul, it has something that makes you sit back and drive, enjoy the scenary. The optimization is also phenomenal, with my RTX 3050 Ti laptop I can play it with everything set as high as possible and maintain 60+ fps

Hi, unrelated to the video (thanks for the warning about the delisting btw) can you remove the automatic translations, pretty please ? They are awful and since YT blocks the access to the English title and descriptions for non native speakers it's a struggle. I had to scrap my head for a while to understand what the French title meant. Also the default audio for me is this laughable machine translated voice and it struggles a lot with the parts name and in general.

I didn't play 4 all that much and got way better at tuning in 5 so I actually preferred having a clean slate. I got the ultimate version for like $20 on Steam back when they first announced the de-listing so I ended up with more cars out of the gate than I ever had before. Played the last couple of regular content seasons. I would do the same if I bought FH5 in the future. I played the crap out of it on Game Pass. But ran into a glitch where it never deletes old saved tunes and I eventually ran out of space and couldn't save anymore which was very annoying. So I'd like to start over and do it right because a lot of cars just aren't worth messing with. It is possible there are some cars I'd never get back but I collected the whole set in FH5 already and made multiple public tunes for like 85% of them. And there aren't any cars that are just so good they can't be beaten with judicious tuning of relatively common/cheap cars. Even the infamous bone shaker can be beaten with several cheap cars. A Caterham will absolutely thrash the Boner Shaker in FH5 in acceleration and handling in an A Rally config. You just gotta be sly enough to not get hit hard. Even in FH4, this is true, though it isn't quite as pronounced.

@Lurch-Bot oh I completely agree that any car can be fast, I was never great at tuning but had a lot of fun trying to race in multiplayer with my own car choices. My cars tended to be pretty quick for a bit but absolutely on a knife edge so I'd probably make a mistake and get beaten over a race distance (especially as I always felt that changing a car to 4wd was kinda cheating). Tbh you're right that I should probably just start again but I'll miss everything I did and unlocked before! (Especially my Ultima, that thing was a beast... Just pretty untameable)

For those who wonder, yes, you'll be able to play online even after the delisting, unless there's another announcement saying they're pulling the plug on the servers. *EDIT: Last Festival playlist already got stopped after the #77, and it's currently useless to play the Seasonal events unless you really want to. All of the other online mode remains playable, though.* The only thing you'll miss out on though by getting it now is for the Car Packs, i believe only the free ones have been kept.

You can still play the game, they just can't sell it anymore because some licenses are expiring. It's an unfortunately somewhat common thing with racing games, and it's the same reason the old GRID and DiRT games can't be bought.

My favourite part will always will be listening to chrvches and casually driving across whole map and friendly races with randoms on motorway tunnel. I have this in my steam library, will purchase the dlc that i skipped back then. It will always be close to my heart.

Even if this gets delisted, you can still buy a key from a re-seller and redeem it. It entails some extra risk, but as someone who likes the creature comforts that come with buying games on Steam (mostly achievements), it's worth-it to me.

This is probably my favourite game to play on my Ayaneo/Antec Slide 7840U handheld. Runs at about 40FPS on near the highest settings and looks amazing. There's also just something about a car racing game set in the UK, given that so much car content I consume is from the UK starting with good old Top Gear, Fifth Gear, and all the KZbin channels doing their take on the challenges or reviews.

I got 100% achievements in this about 2 years ago, but I still pop in from time to time to enjoy driving around the UK. And the Forzathon events are still active with plenty of people participating, which adds to the fun.

It's so expensive for a game, which is being delisted. I'm of those people, who usually buy "ultimate" editions, because I don't like missing out on content, but I decided to never play Forza Horizon 4 rather than pay this price.

Probably the best horizon game in the entire series, people were so stuck up on the season system being a "gimmick" but in retrospect this game represents a time when Playgrounds games actually listened to what their community wanted to be added into the game, and cared for the love of driving

I was never a fan of any sort of driving game, and then during lockdown I started playing FH4 online with a friend's autistic son to give them a bit of a breather, and I bloody love it. It's become one of my favourite games, not only because of the fun we've had together playing it. We also play FH3 and FH5 too, but the setting of FH4 is superlative compared to them, and it just looks so damn good... I've actually been to several of the locations, and live about 20 minutes drive from one of them! (Ladybower Dam)

I have a second-hand gamer PC with a GeForce GTX 1060 card from 2016 and the best compromise for smoothness for me is playing Forza Horizon 4 in 1080p 4:3 aspect ratio with various individual settings either on high or ultra (I'm not bothered by the black bars on either side of my screen). I'm not sure of the exact framerate but I don't notice any stuttering or slowdown the way I did when I was initially playing it fullscreen at 1440p.

I logged into my Steam on friend's PC when we were hanging out at his place, and his 5600+1070ti ran this all maxed 70+ FPS. My 1080 used to run it 100+ on a 1080wide all maxed. Really cool game.

My first forza game was forza horizon, the first one for the xbox 360. I see anything related to forza 2 for the xbox 360 I get huge nostalgia shots. Countless hours in that game, countless races and speeding like a maniac through the colarodo-based map that was the forza horizon 1 map belonging to the xbox 360 port of the game.

I played this back in the time with an i7 2600 and a rx 570 4gb, always at 60fps on high settings, i had to sell the pc and i build a new one just in time for playing this game, even tho i didint have that much money im playing today with a i5 6400 and gtx 1050 2gb at 30fps medium settings, i love this game, its like traveling back in time where everything was better.

That's kinda sad... Man I remember having such a good time in this game on my old Xbox One when it came out, just driving around in different cars and listening to the music on the radio. Especially loved driving at sunset while Midnight City was playing. Ended up with over 1000 hours of just this 💔😢

I remember playing this on a first gen i7 with a gt1030. It played fine, with a reasonable expectation of performance in mind. Can't believe it's being delisted. I knew it was only a matter of time since horizon 5 had come out, but at least it's only delisted for now.

Thinking of playing Forza Horizon 4 or 5 and actually playing them are two completely different things to me... On one hand, you imagine awesome physics and well-looking graphics, thinking here it is, finally a game where you can just relax and mindlessly drive your favourite car. On the other hand, you get a tutorial handholding simulator where you have to navigate through endless rows of menus and wait on your phone for the characters speaking in an awfully fake tone to finish and let you finally race in a racing game.
