When they talked about Bret selling the frustration when taker sat up, I also remembered when Taker came to ring in 97 and when he hit the lights and lightning struck, Brets fists clenched and he sold as though it really scared him. Such dedication to the craft, himself and his opponent.

My favourite Bret Hart moment is a less well talked about one, but his match against Hakushi in 1995 was possibly the best match that year, in what was the hardest year WWF had. They were a perfect paring and the WWF needed something like this. Hakushi had this amazing aura around his character and Bret was going in a different direction whilst not being the Champion. A close 2nd is his incredible few minutes with Ted Dibiase at Survivor Series 1990, a match that The Undertaker debuted in.....its such a shame that Bret and Dibiase never ran a program, but the roof was blown off the building that night in those few minutes.

Spectacular job getting to the core of the implications of the Bret/Shawn rivalry around the time of Montreal. One thing is that Shawn was working hurt for a while there and he dropped the title to Austin the following March at Wrestlemania XIV... and then took four years off. So I don't think that we missed too many more matches between them! That time is so fascinating - right on the cusp of the Attitude Era. For me, it's more interesting to think about how Bret Hart would have been used in the Attitude Era, how his character would have progressed alongside Taker, Austin, Rock, Mankind, Triple H, etc. Would have been cool!

People truly don’t understand how great Bret Hart was. So many believe his work was clunky and didn’t look as smooth as other guys, but don’t understand that, that was on purpose. I think it's because it doesn't look as flashy as the stuff Shawn did. It was just super solid whereas Shawn could be more over the top with the selling and would incorporate more acrobatics. That's why my favorite in terms of the wrestling aspect is probably Kurt Angle, who I thought was a great blend of both solid technical wrestling with some good selling and occasional acrobatics. But Bret is perhaps underrated also because his time was the New Generation era which is when WWF had lost some fan interest compared to the golden 80s and Attitude. I wasn't much into wrestling myself during the early to mid 90s.

It needs to be noted that Bret still had time on his WWF contract. They could've had Bret drop the belt at the DX ppv if Vince wanted it that way.

This is hands down the best wrestling related podcast going today esp if you’re in your 30’s and grew up on Taker, the banter between these 2, the stories and just all round entertainment is 100/100 💯 !

Undertaker and Bret have a lot in common. They both had some of their worst wrestling moments with Bill Goldberg. 🤔

Loving following the evolution of the Undertaker on KZbin. It's like he worked this right up until he stopped wrestling. Rarely spoke on TV, spoke even less away from it. Created a massive appetite for this side of 'Taker and he just gets better and better at feeding us 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Not sure if it’s on either Matt or Taker’s radar, but Taker’s thoughts on “What Killed WCW”would be interesting, from a “WWE guy” perspective

Im sure Taker said that, and that was probably one bad day out of a thousand on the road together. Have you ever worked with someone who didn't get on your nerves from time to time? I sure haven't. Family included. When Bret and Taker talk about one another, it's with ultimate respect, and I'd wager that was their relationship 99/100.

If you would have told me 20 or 30 years ago that I'd hear the Undertaker talking about weiner steroids, i woulda called you insane! 😂 Thats awesome. Love you man! Miss the old days, but now we get all these great inside stories that we can relate to on a spectator level. And for that we thank you.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and suggest that, maybe, Taker doesn't actually do the uploading to KZbin and, quite possibly, doesn't even know what a thumbnail is. If you used the word 'thumbnail' in front of him, my guess is that he'd think they were things to be used for dropping Mick Foley on.

Bret is a man of his word, if he wanted to win in Canada against Shawn at SS 97, he would have 100% dropped it in the States the next program. I don't see any history in him where he would work it in a different way if he said he would.

Bret is still my favorite from that era. Bret ALWAYS said he'd drop the strap the next night. Just not in Montreal. A bad situation that took the business to legendary heights and gave us the Mr. McMahon character, but it was avoidable. Get Bret on the podcast! #WeWantBret

Again just finish watching the entire episode, absolutely great as always, and yes I remember that match with bret, his reactions and the finish was just perfect story telling with Shawn and Taker, so great to hear the story and the respect Mark have for Bret, again need to happen, somehow bring that man to the show will be LEGENDARY if he can seat down there with you 2.

I love Mark's take on "Montreal" in just that Bret didn't want to leave. That never gets brought up anymore. And that Bret was essentially pushed out. I don't believe Vince countered. Great show fellas. I'm a mark for stuff like this more so than the interviews. But whatever gets you traction!

As a swed i never understood why people in US loved PRO wrestling. But in the 80s tv was crap (and i was a teenager), so when i/we could see something in sweden i did watch. It was not every week i could, because it was on some English TV channel..... I can`t say when it was, but it was 1 match between Bret Hart and Mr Perfect. Holly shit wow, i was sold
