I know this is a few months old now, and maybe others had said it too. Start by lowering the feed ramp, but... YOU NEED A DIFFERENT TORCH, specifically a tighter nozzle (1/2" tip). That one's throwing too much heat in my humble opinion. Bernzomatic - UL2317 Pencil Flame Brass Torch (poor-man's option, I use this) or WT2301 Trigger Start Torch Head (like what you have) Happy reloading ! 👍🏻 Dandy little rig you made yourself, BTW ! It does do a great job !

And I should clarify, by "lower the feedramp" I mean bring it down maybe an inch - but parallel to it's current position. Say, halfway down the shadow and in a bit. That way the cases don't have as far to "drop" until they reach the stop bar inside the drum. Less likely to jump off from the impact.

I know you're doing a video, but I found turning off direct lighting while adjusting the flame distance, so it drops right as the brass starts to turn pink gets it near perfect. For the drum I just used a large coffee can cut down (finding the center hole to drill is the hard part) and I aim the flame so it hits the brass and the muffler bracket to act as a heat sink. I havent had a cracked neck since, so its working :)

Now that's cool. Thanks for the description and view of the parts. It looks pretty easy to build but the parts would be hard to come by for me. Thanks for sharing!

Good one man! I built one of these a few years ago, but I didnt add the speed controller, though I wish I did. I still works well but adjusting the distance of the flame, though the speed controller would make it even easier....I wasnt that smart back then lol :)

I sent you some pictures how I did mine . It looks like the brass is just a tad hotter than need be . The easy way to get the right speed and temp is to turn the lights down low and adjust so the brass does not glow red . You'll have it in no time .

Nice work! Once you get it all adjusted you'll be flying through the brass.

That works great. Once you get the speed and flame set to your liking it should go fast👍🏻

Looking to build one and wonder how you attached the pan to the shaft? Threaded, press fit, etc.
@sixshootertexan26 күн бұрын
It's a propeller adapter for a model airplane. It has a set screw on it to hold it to the shaft.

Thanks 6 Shooter. I need to build this. I’m using my drill, torch and a socket. It works but it’s kinda slow.

Great set up definitely using this design. What did you use for the arm to stop the brass?
@sixshootertexan6 ай бұрын
A u bolt for a square bar. Don't remember size but something like 2 inch or bigger.
