Thanks for the video, I bought a used DRZ400sm and it came with the stainless steel version of your exhaust, they had bolted it in on incorrectly, this helped in knowing how the spacers are to be installed, and the torque specs were great! Thanks again

Excellent tutorial. Exhaust looks/sounds outstanding. Did you have to do anything with the carburetor after your exhaust install? I see this is an older clip, if you still have the bike how's it been reliability wise? Any breakdowns or recalls? Thanks for any insight as I am pondering this model.
@SixSpeedSouthern Жыл бұрын
I did not change the jets, but if you want to fully benefit from the freeing up the exhaust, you can. The bike will run just fine. I ran it just like that up until I sold it. They don't have issues, essentially bulletproof. Suzuki has been pretty much been making it in the same configuration for 20 years. She won't let you down!

Good vid I’m going to be getting a 2018 DRZ 400 SM this spring and definitely getting a full exhaust I want the Yoshimura RS-3 but I just see slip on’s dose it come full kit? does anybody know? Looks good and sounds good to by the way! Oh ya It’ll get a louder as you use it more my KTM EXC 500 SM got a full FMF power bomb and it just got louder. Hey why did you put the KTM front plate on it for? is the light brighter or something?
@SixSpeedSouthern6 жыл бұрын
It comes in a full kit for a little over $500. It's a great looking exhaust and sounds great, whether the silencer is in or out. KTM Front headlight, with the stock bulb is definitely brighter than the stock headlight housing. It's still not bright enough, but I'll be getting an H4 Cyclops LED to install.
@PragmaticTornado6 жыл бұрын
Lucky you - they don't even sell these new in my country anymore. Probably because of emissions. I kinda want a new one, since my DR-Z looks like it's been through hell and back. They're even rare on the used market, which made me have to just settle for one with loads of small annoying issues.
@christinapage73944 жыл бұрын
How much top speed did you gain with this pipe? Did the bike feel lighter? I am eyeing this full exhaust. Last drz I had gained a lot of speed from a slip on and a couple teeth less in the rear.
@turbocateyeS4753 жыл бұрын
I've ran mrd, titanium akrapovic, fmf, yoshi and even a two brothers slip on. There are 7 drz400sm in my friend group and we've all swapped/sold exhausts several times between us. Yoshi and mrd seem to have the biggest head pipe, yoshi has alot less drone. Fmf is honestly the best sounding in person if you want decently loud while still sounding good but the akrapovic is pretty sweet. Has a cool sound, doesn't drone, won't get unwanted attention but opens it up and you can hear it in the helmet which is beneficial when you don't have a tach. Exhaust alone doesn't change speed much between them all, might get 4 or 5mph. But it takes away the vibration and the feel of the bike blowing up at 70mph. To get the full affect you need atleast a jet kit also and the 3x3 mod helps it breathe better. I wouldn't change teeth more than one or two up or down. And the bike might feel slightly less top heavy but because a bike gets glued to the road the faster you go so the only place it'd be noticable would be in a parking lot. Honestly the fmf powerbomb header and power core muffler makes it sound more like a 450 MX bike which I like but the yoshi is probably the best if you're making over 100 mile trips or riding it everyday.
