Very cool initiative to lend a guitar to your student! I'm sure they won't ever forget about you as a mentor. I have a Cort x700 Duality I, which has Seymour Duncans and is supposedly good for jazz, and went from 9s to 10s. I'm happy with the sound but I'm scared to go to 11s, and you mentioned in the video there are 15s! I didn't even know they existed haha

I have an ibanez that is very nice and cost me under $300 AF-a8f-12-01 is the exact model number of mine however I don't think it is made anymore. The AF55-TF seems pretty simular.

I had an AF71 for a little bit. Ibanez also makes good archtops in that price range. Mine was a floating pickup guitar

@@AlexPriceMusician Cool I had a swedish Levin arch top (1942) that used to have a floating pickup but it was finally killed in the 2nd fire it endured.

I have one, Probably a 1995. At this time they were made in Korea. Mine is also excellent for the price. You got a real deal. I purchased mine used about 12 years ago for $600. My experience, in general, is that guitars made in Korea are better than those made in china or Indonesia... but I can't say that for sure in reference to the current Joe Pass model. I do have an '86 Epiphone Sheraton (like an ES335) and that is WAY better than the current crop of Epiphone 335s. It's even better than many new Gibsons.

That is a great guitar! Yes, the Samick era Korean Epiphones are really nice instruments. I think the new Joe Pass model is good too, but the 90s-ish is preferred and with the original pickups too.
