as a newfoundlander who loved this song since i first heard it many many years ago. this hits different, I'm 30 years old now. all my friends and i have moved different places, got married, started families and barely see each other. this song truly hits home.

This song reminds me the best times I had in Newfoundland. I am Italian and I spent three amazing months in this country. I had a lot of friends and a lot of fantastic memories. I have been schreeced too. I am proud to have been in Newfoundland. I miss this land

I was stationed there with the US Air Force at Goose Bay air base in Labrador. I was "Screeched" in as well, kissed a codfish and ate canned bear meat on Ritz crackers from the Hudson Bay store. It was an isolated tour of duty so my family missed out on all the fun. I would go back if given half a chance, yah noo?

Just heard this from a Newfoundlander's playlist (I'm a Nova Scotian) - how was this not all over the Canadian and U. S. playlists? Smashing.

I'm from Torbay (but don't hold that against me 😆) And I can say first hand, this land is God's country. Especially when you grew up in a little outport community like I did, it's like the whole town is one big family, we watch out for each other, we take care of each other, we genuinely care. Which is hard to come by, especially in today's world.

High school sure had it's ups and downs, but I think about how he says "for a while." Which would be pretty great. You could go back and evaluate how you saw things, handled situations, friends and romances but with the mind of a 26 year old (in my case). The power of being able to come back to the present day would have to be an option!!

Everybody is different. Speaking for myself, being a teenager was pretty miserable. Each year since then has been better and better. Sure I have a few more aches and pains since then, but I also have a girlfriend, a real job, and prospects for the future. Most importantly, I can pick and choose the people I hang out with. You don't have a choice who your classmates are, but as an adult you can choose to associate yourself only with positive people who build you up instead of tearing you down.

Difference is a defect. We all must meet the artificial Psych. Industry norm or Big Business won't be pleased and we will become outcasts. Difference = bad. Being as close as possible to the "norm" = good.

Happiness is good, at least for me. If being happy makes me a conformist, I'm happy to be a conformist. You may do as you wish of course.

James Stouffer I've always said it's your scars that make you, well you. Be those mental or physical they mound you, for better or worse, for me it's the literal scars from the bullying (faint one on my face, and on my back) and the mental scars from my Anxiety, Depression and Attempted Suicide. But that's who I am, it's changed me, and I'd like to think for the better.
