Have had a Ruby for a month. Spin is phenomenal. It is plush around the net and lets me hit hard.

Definitely one of the best paddles on the market right now! Glad you’re enjoying it

I put a hesacore grip on mine. I was skeptical but I really like it. Haven’t messed with lead tape yet
@ThePicklePulse8 ай бұрын
I haven’t tried the HesaCore grips, but a little bit of lead tape goes a long way. It will add some stability and extra pop to the paddle. Give it a try!
@sschwartz14882 ай бұрын
I put tungsten tape from the handle up to the middle of the paddle. Got the hesacore grip too. Ilove the Ruby but I think it's been feeling pretty heavy. Not sure if it's better to use just stock.

Helpful to see how to do the overwrap. Thanks!

Greetings! I must say, I have ripped massive topspin on this stick and the feel is fantastic. Topspin is king: the surface of this stick gives you major control.
@ThePicklePulse4 ай бұрын
Well said! And try the Thrive Azul if you’re interested in slightly more pop without sacrificing control!

@@ThePicklePulse I'm currently hitting with a winpro. It has all the specs for a fraction of the cost of all high-end sticks!

Should you be wearing gloves when handling lead tape?
@ThePicklePulse5 ай бұрын
I’ve thought about that and I think the right answer is yes, even though I haven’t been in the past. The other option that is better for you is Tungston tape which is probably a better option. You can find it on Amazon.

Great review! Was the lead tape 2 grams per inch? What was the length of the lead tape each side?
@ThePicklePulse8 ай бұрын
The tape is 4” on each side and added 4oz total, so 2” = 1oz with the brand I’m using. The paddle hits really hard with the extra wieght!
@BigRed22_KC8 ай бұрын
Would not put lead on the throat. Most of the weight on the ruby is in the handle and bottom portion of the paddle. I put mine in the middle half way up each side and it feels much better than on the throat. Just 3 grams a side. Larger sweet spot feel and more power. Find what works for you though I guess. I noticed worse hand speed at the kitchen with lead on the throat especially.
@ThePicklePulse8 ай бұрын
It’s Funny you say that! I’ve already had to take some off the throat and it feels much better. The second paddle came in a little heavier so I didn’t need as much lead tape! These Ruby’s are fire though, great paddle.

Great video! I have a Luxx. Have you compared the Ruby to the Luxx?
@ThePicklePulse5 ай бұрын
The ruby hits 50% harder than the Luxx. The Luxx is the softest paddle I have ever played with, if you enjoy that plush feel the ruby would work, but you might want to try the Hurache 16mm Kevlar. It would be a great step up, and feels super plush with a good bit more power than the Luxx. Use my code Pulse 10 and save some $$$
@frankparisi24335 ай бұрын
@ThePicklePulse I also have a dbd which is very similar to the Ruby. The dbd is my go to paddle. I do find that the dbd has excellent power and spin. Resets and pop off the paddle takes good form to control at times. That said I know that my technique will improve and I'll grow into the paddle. I'm a 4.0 player who plays with a lot of movement and aggression to the chagrin of sone of my doubles partners who dont understandaboyt taking the middle. Anyway, I just got the Luxx s2 paddle yesterday and will try it out tomorrow. The handle is only 3.5" but it has the largest face of sll sizes in the lineup. Im thinking the Epic would have been a better choice. My hope is that the Luxx will help me with control and let me use more of my power instead of holding back. We will see. I also have a bd which plays very similar to the dbd and am trying the Vatic Pro Prism and Neonic Pro, all control paddles. But pb is a lot like tennis in that I believe it's best to get dialed in with one paddle. Once I garner the skills for 5.0 or greater I might be looking at power paddles. Thanks!

I’m not 100% sure when it’ll be back, I bought mine last week when they had just restocked! It’s already on backorder again🤦♂️. I’d say it’s worth the wait, pre-order it now and hopefully it’ll be back soon.

hello, how do you clean this kevlar surface? as sixzero advises not to use a paddle eraser, thank you

Hi they suggest just a damp cloth.

That’s a heavy paddle if you add an overgrip and lead tape to it. As a woman I need a paddle no heavier than an 8.2.

You should try the new gamma Airbender 13 when it drops, very light and tons of controllable power. Also, the 11six24 Hurache-X 14mm Control+ is super light and powerful. My code Pulse10 will save you on both paddles as well. Thanks for watching!

it would have been nice if we knew what other paddles you played with since you are comparing the Ruby to other paddles you played with which tells us nothing and 6 weeks is only 1 1/2 months which is not a very long time
@ThePicklePulse7 ай бұрын
I was playing with the Selkirk Power air before and I like that the grit last longer, and it’s more consistent over time with only loosing a tiny bit of pop. I’ve also played with the electrum model E and The Ronbus R13, but the Ruby crushes them in spin and power. I play 4 times a week on avg. for about 2-3 hours per play, and paddles have only been lasting me 2-3 months at best.

you should try the Gearbox Elongated Pro power Pickleball paddle. I also wish six zero made an elongated ruby pickleball paddle.@@ThePicklePulse
