Ao Kuang is my favorite char. I personally go straight for dragon call and water illusion. I stealth to them then do massive damage using dragon call and if there stubborn ill use wildstormto finish them off

Excellent guide! I personally use the 1 as a quick burst damage output when I need it, since the scaling is very high. and you don't even have to build attack speed but you can still use your 3 and basics to hit 3-4 melee dragons, as his base AS is high enough. one question, is it good to start with purple pot as it is 50 power because he is a mage? and if it is, should I buy 3HP/2mana pots or 2/3? considering the passive and bumba's mask. once again, very good guide, helps a lot of people like+sub.

+Moshiko Malul Thank you! I like purple pot in some situations, like if I'm solo lane and it's a 'kill or be-killed' type of matchup. If I had that situation I'd go 3 HP and 2 Multi-Pots, since bluestone is so prevalent and can really chunk you down as Ao. In jungle though, 3 HP and 2 MP are good. Glad that you liked it! :D

I love your videos! I have a tip for medusa if u do a video on her: a good combo can be ult into lacerate into viper shot. This applies damage and usually depending on your build can really quickly decimate squishy gods.

piplup229 For me personally, I go Pen Boots - Chronos' Pendant - Spear of the Magus - Polynomicon - Soul Reaver - Rod of Tahuti. But you really only need Polynomicon and Soul Reaver, along with some other mage items, to make it a 1-shot build.

You should also make a video about Loki, and mention stuff with his decoy. I once blocked very deadly auto attacks from a ravana by using it, and when it was about to detonate, I stunned him with assassinate and killed him with about 10 % health :D

One thing that you ''forgot'' to say. Some Ao Kuang players keep upgrading their ult as soon as possible; that is bad. The Ao Kuang ultimate execution range does not increase, like Thanatos. As you said, Mage build > attack speed build. When i find Ao Kuang player buying attack speed stuff i always try to explain that to them. Cool video, your channel have a good potential.

Perhaps My favorite kit in the game. Very cool and has some nice damage, while still not feeling as cheep as Loki(really hat that guy). I would put him at Number 2 of my top 5. A head of Odin but just shy of Amaterasu.

I knew most of this. But I'm mastery 10. Your 2 is very very good for the slow. And I think that should be pointed out. If you need to close the gap. I pick it up at level 4. I can 2. Throw it. 1. 3. And usually that is a lot of damage to poke out or kill. And please only put one point into his ult. It only gives you more health on a kill. It's an amazing ult but you only need one level

+Dylan Johnson Not shale, but I can still offer some insight. That's a very tried and true AK build, and Im not too sure its a typo or something, but there is only 5 items, I'd recommend sticking a rod of tahuti before soul reaver, or a chronos pendant before the polynomicon if you prefer. Bancroft's talon is also interchangable with Pythag's piece

I tend to not use it just because I love spamming spells, as well as the mp5 that Chronos' Pendant gives you, which is why I rush it. My opinion tends to be an unpopular one, though. I agree with Crude on the other item choices, (go Pythags for sure if you have 3 magical on your team).

i love ao kuang when i watched this video a long time ago i thought like wow ao kuang he looks so powerful and his attacks are pretty devastating and now i got him he's the only god i play with tho i dont get to play smite all the time because my internet is slow but i go in the internet cafe to play it :) and i gotta say i got alot of experiance with ao kuang i can play him very good i didnt reach master yet because i have to internet cafe and all but yeah my playstyle with him is very good i made my own build for him and in a conquest i only die 2 times with a killstreak of 20+ and ofc water illusion haha my life saver sometimes :)

I find that the one shot combo is kinda like Loki: unless you proc your ult's heal, you will likely die after killing the target. Basic attacks are more versatile in my opinion, when you are not in a teamfight.

+Stas Simovski (Megakoresh) If you do it fast enough you should be able to at least use your 1, even if you get caught it's still usually worth since you can kill a squishy + a few cc abilities out of the enemy usually. Auto-attacks on AK mean that you can get caught out REALLY easily, being that you are going to be in a relatively predictable area to be quickly dealt with. When catering to a 1-shot build, you don't have this problem, as your damage comes from a farther range of the target, inherently increasing your survivability against the enemy team.

+LineageIILegend In Season 3 things aren't really strained out for the best items on Ao. I can tell you what items are good though. Both Shoes of the Magi and Focus are good options depending on playstyle. Bancroft's Talon and Pythatgorem's Piece are great lifesteal options (for sure get Pythag's if you have at least 2 other mages on your team), but Polynomicon is great especially for an assassin-like playstyle. Spear of the Magus is the best Pen item on him, ignore Spear of Desolation, as the reset of 8 seconds just doesn't match up with his timers to be that useful. If you're looking for cooldown reduction, consider Chronos' Pendant and/or Pythagorem's Piece. To round out a build on damage, Soul Reaver and/or Rod of Tahuti are great, get at least one. If I had to tell you my favorite build, it would probably be: Shoes of Focus - Chronos Pendant - Spear of the Magus - Polynomicon - Soul Reaver - Rod of Tahuti As for Relics (Actives), go Blink and Beads usually. The order is up to you.

Hello everyone! If you find these Ao Kuang tips useful, be sure to give it a 1+ so that other people may also get to see it that way! If you don't agree with me by any means, please reply and let me know what I screwed up! :) 1., If you're a jungler as Ao I think this tip may help you a lot: if you want to clear a camp fast, what I would do is activate my Dragon Call then my Wild storm to apply dragons to all minions quickly. But most of the times you would miss the Wild Storm because it can only hit the minions at maximum range. So I think if you hit a Basic Attack, then activate Dragon Call and by the time you activate your Wild Storm, all minions are walking towards you and there is almost no chance you would miss the Wild Storm. But in terms of ranged minions(Mana camps in Conquest / Clash) this tactic obviously won't work. 2., Even tho Ao Kuang is a melee, assasin like Mage... Well, he's still a Mage. He still has to use his abilities to get the most of this damage. I think that building a some attack speed on Ao will work, but if you build too much, then you're abilities won't do the damage you expect them to do and my even loose the fight. Or win it, I don't know, but for me, full Attack Speed Ao Kuang does not work. 3., Another important thing to note as an Ao Kuang is to know when to be agressive. If let's say you're in a Joust match and the enemy team has very low amount of CC abilities and burst damage: then you can poke them very hard with your Water Illusion and most of the times, your gonna get them low enought to be able to finish them off. Ao Kuang is very weak against Criples or other ability usage preventing CC types. If you're playing against a team with good criples like a (3v3): Poseidon, Cupid, Bakasura; then you're gonna have to have beads or even Magi's ready and be extremly careful. This is it, leave your other tips below, have a nice day! :)

It doesnt say it recharges when you are out of combat it says it recharges when your sword is sheathed. Which does happen when you are out of combat but their is a delay, you can jumpstart and bypass the delay by hitting the recall button.

Shale Unfortunately I just left in the middle of a game and went back to league of legends. I enjoy smite and everything but I just cant play one match without lag spikes. Today I even cleaned my pc and started completely new, restarted my modem and still caught lag spikes.

i can see why you would say ao kuang passive sucks , but for me i think its one of the best in the game . you basically have infinite mana, i mean while going to gank/ get buffs or in solo wait for the minions your not going to atack so it has a lot of time to recharge. as ao kuang i never buy mana pots in any position because his passive is just that good. its not much in terms of power like kukulkan's , but in utility is one of the best to have -also good tips and keep it up

AndreyMihay1 If the passive regenerated out of combat, I'd have to agree that it would be amazing. That's what I thought when the character came out because I didn't know that the wording was wrong, since it in fact doesn't regenerate out of all 'types of combat'. It takes 5 seconds to start regenerating again, and another 5 to get a charge, so that means you have 10 seconds between camps to get 'infinite mana'. Junglers just don't have time for that, so it doesn't really factor in that heavily.

true but the problem that you are saying for not having the time to regenerate it is only in early game , when you take longer to do the buffs and NEED to use more mana for skills. that problem can be solved with a mana pot. but the problem is gone once you buy some items and can clear a camp with just your ''2''. so after that you could do 3 camps with just the 3 charges without mana and while going for the next you passive would recharge. + the time while going to gank 10/15 + secs would also recharge it. summary: the problem you mentioned is only in the early game , and it can be solved with 2 mana pots , late game you ask ''what is mana''

The way I play him, I still have occasional problems later game, which is why I have Chronos Pendant. I have to disagree with the infinite mana point and waiting for it to recharge. I'm saying that as a jungler, you simply arent going to wait 10 seconds BETWEEN killing one camp and starting another for it to recharge 1 stack, that's all.

+Archn Scythe It regenerates at a terrible pace, you cant even get a full charge in between jungle camps. It's better than no passive, but not that much better. It's pretty rare that you get free mana from it, since it's usually a good to just back anyways since you usually have gold to spend anyway.

+The Disprovist Ya in some MotD's and Arena usually has better chances for Ao to do well with an Auto-attack build. Hopefully they make more items that can apply to him in Season 3!

I already good with Ao Kuang, but in the Xbox One version there is currently a bug where when you play as Ao Kuang your framerate goes down to the floor. So basically he is the best worst character in the game right now for us XbOne Nubs.

why no book of thoth?

Aetrew Book of Thoth is good, sometimes I build it, but most of my games I'm already really huge and don't need to stack for power anymore. Players like Cyclonespin do that occasionally, it's perfectly viable! As long as they're Mage items that make your abilities do more work, that's the best way to play Ao Kuang. I didn't list it because that's not the 'one-shot' playstyle, which is the one I like.

Shale In case you do build book, which other item would you replace? spear? And another unrelated question, in teamfights, do you play his like an assasin, waiting for the fight to start and then picking on the remaining enemies?

AlexandrosGray I'd replace either Chronos or Soul Reaver. Polynomicon can be replaced for Bancroft's or Pythagorems (when you have 2+ magicals). Though, the one-shot will turn into more of a two-shot. When in a fight, I look to use Blink on the backline, burst someone and maybe execute them, or at least take their Beads. TP out and repeat.

Hmm, when I think of doing someone new, I usually look at how much depth their kit has. I'll look it over, it might be a while until a guardian though, I'm quite busy with real-life stuff, and a few other videos on the way.

+VardeV You're a silly person :u. The text for Ao Kuang's passive was written wrong, it should say that the passive regenerates while the sword is sheathed, instead it says out of combat, which is simply not true; other mechanics that can only be used out of combat such as blink still function while a god is in an aggressive stance (after using a basic attack/ability to not damage anyone) the fault here lies with the wording of his passive, not Shale's knowledge.
