Jim Skafish is a really talented person as shown by his more recent Jazz output. A very funny and kind human being.

I drummed on this video and was with Skafish for the entire time the band recorded and toured. Jim was a musical genius. Far ahead of the time! People were just not quite ready to accept his appearance and music.

I'll say it again. This easily is my favorite live video ever and I've seen a lot. These people really got to see an absolute stellar performance. Everything here is on point. The performance, sound, the bands movements, and playing. Honestly, it's perfect.

Scafish's band doing this Sign Of The Cross in france an seen of the legendary Urg music war video tape an later dvd still makes me laugh out loud for its defiant sarcasim which mr scafish received for 12 yrs as a catholic student by some abusive facilatators of those learning institutions. Well Mr Scafish an his musisians he worked with made legendary music history in 70s + an I know I cant image no punk rock music history to embrace. Thank kittens for that. But even to day Mr Scafish has survived what many did not in this new yr of 2021 an has an is making beautiful music an contributed to helping intercity children. That speaks. Like I said in another comment, " Scafish changed The Universe". But that is part of being good enough to be known in history to do so a live to continue. Keep on keepin on man!!!!

Exceptionally fine band/players with a musical genius (Jim Skafish) leading them. WAYYYYYYY ahead of most of their contemporaries in all facets of performance, conceptualization, songwriting and, arrangement. Brilliant

Funny. When I first saw Urgh when I was like 16 this was one of my least favorite cuts, a decade later and it’s a highlight. Skafish were definitely ahead of their time and it took me some time to come around to that Barbie Goodrich looks like she could’ve been in Orgy of the Dead here lol

I met Jim Skafish a couple times, once at a jukebox in a hotel on Highway 41 in Hammond IN, where he was playing for my late friend Tiny's birthday. I ended up helping him take his one man band gear to his car in below zero temp that night. The other time was at the Quarterback Club in East Chicago, where he signed my copy of one of his IRS LP's.

I LOVE THIS SO MUCH. And I love you for posting it. I've been looking for it ever since I heard it playing in a friend's car back in the 80's. It stuck in my mind all these years, but my friend is long gone and couldn't remember the name of it or who sang it, so I've been checking on KZbin off and on all this time. I finally typed in "sign of the cross punk music" and miraculously, up comes Skafish! I was raised Catholic, which sucked, so this song means a lot to me. Hurray~!!! I'm going to listen about 20 times in a row.
