I love the wood-burning art on the cabinet doors...absolutely beautiful and the perfect touch!! I love the carpet on the interior walls...great for cutting down sound and also a great way to insulate too, when you don't want to tear inside walls off to add it there.
@UpNorthAdventures5 жыл бұрын
Thank you! The carpet really does cut down a lot of noise. We had a four wheeler burn to the ground real close to us. We woke to it smoldering and were told the of all the commotion. Fire deptartment and all.. slept through and didn't hear a peep lol.
@janetbrowning90895 жыл бұрын
@@UpNorthAdventures Great sound barrier then...something to remember and for others to hear too...there are a lot of people out there in used RV's that would love nothing better than to have more insulation, but they don't want to tear out any walls...carpeting them would solve that problem for both sound and climate control. WTG!!🏕😊

Finally got a chance to take a look at this video -- wow, nice job. I can see from the before pictures that the design elements for late 70s fiberglass trailers were the same ones used in late 70s fiberglass sailboats. Your woodburning skills really gave a personal artistic touch to the completed project.

Kevin Smith Was that paneling you used for the cabinet doors? If it is what a great economic idea!!
@UpNorthAdventures6 жыл бұрын
Yep some paneling and the ones with the woodburnings are on the back of some wainscoating. Over the years the panneling has started to warp from dampness. I figured it might but it took much longer for that to happen than I expected. Easy to replace though. Just wanted to keep everything as light as possible.

great job with the trailer renovation. I hope you don't sell it and I hope you have someone you can leave it to that will appreciate it. I like the Woodburn cabinets very nice artwork. I also like how you reconditioned the aluminum brightwork and name of the company and model of the trailer. I like how you kept it original all the while giving it modern touches such as LED lights and ventilation and 12 volt electrical. nice job with the upholstery and carpeting that will help with sound and thermal insulation I'm sure. I hope you enjoy your time in nature.

Biggest mistake I ever made was carpet squares, I just spent 6 hrs trying to get them out. Now I'm having to redeck the floor, glue is impossible to get off, as far as I'm concerned that is. LOL. Beautiful rig!
@UpNorthAdventures6 жыл бұрын
That's to bad. Sounds like a nightmare! In my case I figure if the squares didn't work something else would end up covering it so I wasn't worried to much. It all worked out for me but I was just trying to do it as cheap as possible. Much better options I'm sure!

I just purchased an Acorn. So been on your channel looking how you redid yours. I’m from Iowa! Never heard of these Acorns but been wanting a scamp for awhile now. Awesome redo! Looks like a good place to start with mine.
@UpNorthAdventures3 жыл бұрын
Well it is actually a scamp. They just had to change the name for a year because of a lawsuit for the rights to the name scamp. Which they won, then continued under the original scamp name. So congrats on your new scamp purchase!😉 there were only a hundred or so built so probably half that still on the road so I'd say you have a rare vintage scamp at that. Thanks for the compliment glad you liked the vid!✌
