I loooove the original SKAM, but I feel the French version captures a lot of emotional nuances that the original didn't. What I love about the original is that it captures the relationship between Isak and Even in a realistic way without being overly sentimental, but this version hits you directly in the feels, at almost every opportunity. ❤ SIGH ❤

In order for a fifth season to happen at least five things need to happen. This was written my Niels or Jeremy, I can't remember who had posted about it. It's a long shot from what was posted but if true it's a possibility nevertheless. 1. The Norwegian station that owns the rights to Skam must ok it 2. Julie must ok it as well 3. Francetv Slash must order the 5th season 4. The producers and crew must be on board with it 5. The cast must agree to it as well.

I think it's important that it wasn't him who texted. In the original Skam Even literally send Isak his location. But Eliott didn't. And still, Lucas KNEW where he was. No "I'm at ..." or "it's the place we first kissed". He knew. He knew Eliott disapeared without telling anyone. And he knew, Eliott did it because he was not fine. And he knew, the only one who could save him was Lucas himself. That's why he went to the place that Eliott showed only one person. He knew, Eliott was waiting for him (Lucas) to save him (Eliott). They have a connection. One f.ing detail with such an important message. Believe me I'm dying here.

Honestly, while I always love Skam France's soundtrack, I love their use of background silence even more. Every point in their relationship that was start to something is marked by silence. Like when they first kissed, every time Eliot got close and then backed off, the background music stopped. Or immediately after Lucas finishes playing I Love You on the piano. Here Lucas is establishing his investment in their relationship, accepting that it's not going to be easy and will stand by Eliot. And that moment is also marked by silence. The only sounds are Lucas's promise, and Elliot's sobs. It really emphasized their presence as individuals, and as a couple. Kudos to the creators for this small bit of cinematic artistry.

For me the lyrics of O Helga Natt did almost the same thing for Isak as the sermon did for Lucas. When Nils Beck sings "Fall on your knees! Take your freedom!" he looks directly at Isak - go back and watch it, it's fantastic - and Isak is suddenly struck with what he has to do. You can see it. The next line "This holy night gives us salvation," foreshadows precisely what is about to happen. And as the priest tells Lucas that he has strength, that he is accepted, Lucas reviews his time with Eliott, and then, when the priest talks about refuge; Lucas realises that Eliott could only be at his own refuge, La Petite Ceinture. LIke Isak, Lucas knows what he has to do. In both cases, using a church as the setting-off point for salvation gives a gravity and sanctity to the relationship. This setting couldn't have works for Italia one of whose central themes was exemplified by the glorious "f.ck you" to the Church as Martino casts off his mask in sight of St Peter's. So that salvation is accomplished differently, no less beautifully, and equally showing the transformation of Isak/Martino/Lucas. Can't wait to see how the others do it.

I am not a religious person, but that priest's speech bring me tears to my eyes. I have watched this many many times already. What the priest says is so powerful, put the name you want to God. But he will understand you and accept you. I think Lucas finally understood that He was Eliott's light. No one knew where Eliott was except him. God will give you the strengh you need. Lucas stands up and go running looking for Eliott. What he is, a boy who loves a boy is not a sin. That final scene with Eliott all broken was powerful too. Lucas finally understand that he was hurting in past weeks, but also was Eliott. He could see him now. How broken he is and how much he needs lucas. God! Skam France is on another level by now. This is so powerful, merci. ❤ (skam og scene and this one owns my heart).

I love how much the music reflects Lucas's determination. He has made up his mind, he's going to Eliott, he is going to find him. I now finally understand the comment David made about Lucas being the hero of his own story and stupidly this also means I have my hopes way up for an Eliott season. We haven't had as much backstory about Eliott as we did with Even. We know next to nothing. This season was about Lucas, about him coming to terms with who he was, deciding to fight for the love of his life, taking action and standing up for himself. The beat reflects all those things to me, motion, determination, action, goal.

Nothing can beat this scene from OG skam... Oh helga natt scene... That's a feeling... Which I couldn't get over till now... BUT david did this in a unique way... Hats off to the creativity... My heart can’t handle so many emotions. At first I thought that white car was gonna hit him -nearly had a heart attack at this point- then seeing Eliott sitting there in the dark, looking all sad and cyring, that broke my heart. This is one of my favorite episodes, if not the best. It felt so real, like I was with them, sitting beside Eliott. I really like the fact, that they showed a little different „Even“ here. No text message from him, because he was so lost, that he had lost all hope to a happy ending. The way he is sitting in the dark and crying his eyes out. I respect your opinion. But i think it would be unfair to compare the remakes to the original. I know there are some scenes in the remake that are more romantic and that are even better than the og. I have to admit that. However, there is just something that draws me back to the og.... and for me it was in the little things. The original may be really simple... but that's the point. It tries to represent reality. The remakes wouldn't be created without the og... so let's respect it.

I think what I love isn't just how brilliant it is to have the montage of them over the Catholic Priest, but that the Priest is saying very kind and benign things, that kind of work to make Lucas realise what he has to do and what he's afraid of. I love how well written that is.
