So true, this is what I think would make the world such a better place if were just willing to try to understand even the people we dislike or disagree with. I find when I try, that people aren't often as different as I thought they would be, or that their view of the world kind of makes sense within a different context or premise than the one I've ever considered. We can't forget that we live in a society and depend on other humans. No human is an island upon himself/herself. There are always other people who helped to achieve your goals, whether a parent, a friend, a teacher or a partner.

I’m a bit confused! I don’t understand why does she say that the Constitution is there to NOT open the door to “strangers who want to threaten our values”. Is she against refugees? That’d make no sense

i just read the official transcript and it says ''It's not our responsibility to fight to persevere the values for all people. It's not there to open doors to strangers who want to threaten our values.. But it's there to not open the doors for them'' i honestly don't understand that part and i tried to find a sense but i just think its a bad translation for a misreported sentence maybe she is talking about how the constitution doesn't allow refugees? but from the whole letter i doubt she's against them cause she contradicts this statement with the rest of it
