I am a 41 year old Norwegian man with 2 kids in school age. I am just a crazy fan of Skam and I loved watching your reactions. I also thought watching reactions was a really dumb thing, but here I am doing all this teenage stuff. It took me over 2 years in Norway before I watched it. The newspapers just would not shut up about Skam, but I was always like "why the hell would a guy interested in stuff like Sci-Fi and fantasy movies care about a show about teenage girls in high school??? It is even in my own boring old Norway!" But seriously it blew me away. I realized that a show does not need to be about time travel, other planets, wizards or whatever as long as the directing and acting is very well done. It was crazy how one got more invested into the tiny high school dramas these girls faced, in a way you normally would not care about the world getting destroyed in a Marvel movie. Even though this was about girls mainly I could relate so much to their high school experience. Even crazier was when I learned this tiny super low budget show made by our stodgy old public broadcaster NRK became massively popular with teenagers all over the world. Even in China!! How weird was that. It was intriguing to read what fans so far away living in such different cultures thought about a show that never planned on being universal. The director was specifically told to make a TV series for ONLY Norwegian 16-18 year old girls. Nobody else was a target group. It also makes you reflect on some of the qualities of non-profit driven TV production. I watch A LOT of American shows, but I have found that some of the most innovative TV concepts have appeared on good old NRK. Unfortunately I am a sucker for shiny American stuff, even though I often regret it. It is like how I watch all these Marvel super hero movies but I don't actually get that great experience from it.

I really feel you! I was 22 when I first watched this show, and I only started when the show ended. Always thought ı was too old for teenage drama but I quickly realised it is more than just a teenage drama! It is a one wholesome tv series and now, years later I am a teacher in my country who recommends this Show to my students! 😊

Yeeees you need to watch a remake. Druck (skam germany) did a lot of things different. Especially in Season 3. and you could probably experience the new (first og) season live (Instagram etc.) cause its airing in summer so you have time to catch up. But really all of the remakes are absolutely beautiful.

Thank you for your wonderful Skam reactions, they were a highlight of my week. I may have jumped a little when you joked about reacting to Druck (Skam Germany). I know you probably won't because you said you aren't gonna do the remakes, but it's just so good and partly so different. By watching the remakes I feel like Skam would go on forever. And the remakes do an awesome job at including social media. I mean we got a complete fictional one month road trip in between seasons on Instagram. Or extra content on the characters KZbin channels which is so real that half of the viewers don't even know it's just actors. And in one remake even a original Skam actor appeared in character. I’ve watched all your skam reactions! Thanks for doing this show - it was really nice to see how much it affected you (I've seen these bloopers like 5 times already and I still teared up). It’s so exciting that you’re going to Oslo! I was there on holiday last year and it’s one of my favourite cities ever. I definitely want to go back as soon as possible :) I know you’ve said you won’t react to the remakes, but if you ever change your mind (or want to watch it in your free time), I recommend Skam Germany (druck) or Skam España. Druck season 1 is pretty identical to og, but the next 3 seasons are amazing and they made a lot of cool changes. Skam España is on s3 right now, and all 3 seasons are very different to the og :) The other remakes are also okay (I personally don’t like Skam France, Italia or Belgium, but that’s a matter of opinion). You guys should watch DRUCK (Skam Germany) in your free time! it’s one of the best remakes in my opinion and they don’t copy the entire plot lines from the og for the german characters! Also, Skam España is on youtube and season 3 is live right now, y’all should watch it, there’s no geoblock and they also stray away quite a bit from the og storyline as well! And both shows use ig accounts and everything it’s rlly cool! Thanks for reacting to Skam, much love! ❤️

Don’t film it or anything but WATCH DRUCK! It’s got the same heart and the most similar feeling as the original. Its got the most innovative Isak season changing the topic to focus a little less on mental health and something else instead - It’s so beautiful and definitely has the best Sana season. Her love story with Yousef really is very different and her struggles about her religion and feelings for him are delved into a lot deeper.

y’all if you end up choosing between skam france and druck (skam germany) (a la 30:12) then i am begging you to choose druck. they change so much more than skam france, making it much more entertaining if you’ve already seen the original. season 1 of druck is very similar, season 2 is where things really start to change, and season 3 is almost completely different plot-wise. i love the actors in skamfr but i feel like the remake was almost done line for line and shot for shot, which isn’t very exciting when you’ve already heard the lines and seen the shots.

Watching the other remakes is a good way to never be done with the show. Only watched 2 seasons of Skam Germany so cant really judge it but good thing about Skam France is that it's the first remake that went above Skam Norway so they are on season 5 and season 6 is coming and they are about characters the other remakes never talked about yet

27:22 loll, i went to Germany for a study abroad program in uni, we where a bunch of young internationals from diff parts of the world,literally every continent, meeting there or for the purpose of d trip for the first tym ever. it was just 1month! just 1 month we lived and studied and went on trips together. i told myself i wouldnt cry, i wont be weak. the morning of our depature, i held it in, only to break down and let it all out, eventually, lol. cried soo hard i had a bad headache later. still remember the trip, recall only d girls cried lol......im just a girl.

You should check out SKAM map at Visit Oslo and go to some of the locations of the show! It would be so much fun to see you, for instance make a skit at "Isak´s bench" or somewhere at Hartvig Nissen school! Have fun in Oslo! While in Scandinavia, perhaps pop over to Sweden as well? Go and visit the grave of Björn Ironside on Munsö? It´s just a mound though, not much to see, actually.

Since you guys are going to Infinity Con, I hope you guys at least give some of the remakes a shot in your own time. Most of the announced guests so far are from SKAM NL and SKAM AUSTIN, both of which have been cancelled after 2 seasons (technically Austin isn't cancelled, but there hasn't been any news for almost a year). It would be cool if you guys could make a post about them on social media to raise awareness, since both fandoms are trying to get them renewed! SKAM Italia got cancelled too a while back, but was picked up by Netflix Italy after the fans campaigned for it. Every country deserves to at least finish their 4 seasons run. Teens are missing out on some great representation and life lessons because of the cancellations. :(

I know you said you weren't going to do reaction but this is more for your free time Skam France: S1 & 2 are extremely similar to the OG it's creators have even said that it felt like these original French characters were stuck within the same storyline . S3 is very beautiful although some have said that it's dramatic but that just depends on you. S4 is a bit of a mess it seemed like bc of S5 they kind of lost focus on s4 but it's still okay. S5 also is sort of losing its main focus as it's being overshadowed by a sub-plot and some of the characters feel very different from who they were before but I would say overall it's a pretty good season. WTFOCK: S1 is okay. S2 personally is really good I liked the chemistry between the noora & william. S3 depends on who you ask again, but for me it was really good the chemistry between the Isak & Even was just wow, I felt so intrusive watching their scenes together but it does have plot holes and it is a but of a mess. S4 is being made VERY excited for their Sana. SkamNL: S1 is really beautiful and it has one of my favourite versions of Jonas & Eva and the relationship between the girls was just amazing I love their noora & vilde. S2 starts off really well put & beautifully shot but as the season goes on it seems to lose its footing. S3 & 4 won't exist as it was cancelled :( SkamItalia: They have a whitewashed sana so I have a sort of bias against it. S1 is okay. S2 (Isak season) is pretty good I liked the characters and their chemistry, as well as the boy squad. S3 (noora) is alright but depending on who you ask again some people say it was not that good others really like it, I liked it it was really nice their noora and William were very good. Skam España: S1 I really liked and their girl squad is amazing. S2 (cris season, 1st girl isak) is again depending on who you ask. It does have panphobic bits and pieces and their Even is a bit underdeveloped in my opinion. S3 (noora & vilde) I really like how they are handling this season they could do certain things better but again just a couple had scenes but overall really good. I adore their vilde so much she's amazing and I really love her story (even if it's a bit short) Skam Austin: S1 is pretty good I think people are way to quick to judge it. S2 is a bit boring but also done well I really like the changes they have done regarding noora and her story. S3 would be the 1st lesbian Isak but we have no news of it, we don't know if it's not happening or when it will happen. Druck (Germany): They have my favorite version of s1 their jonas & Eva has amazing chemistry they were one of the few that I didn't want to break up, I love them. S2 I really liked as well in the beginning though I did not like their noora and William but they grew in me and I also really like the changes they have done. S3 is my favourite version of isak & even I love the two characters again have awesome chemistry and I loved the changes they did. S4 I love their Sana with my entire soul although I didn't like how they set it up towards the end, this made me realize how much I really just want a season of Sana without a noora storyline forced in there. Feel free to add more or add your own opinions :)
