It's both (from what i've played in the past) Big big city with some good spots, but specific areas where the lobby "creates" their own spots with the builder.

Almost feels like the GTA 5 multiplayer of skateboarding games. One clip looks like you have an apartment. That would be pretty sick if you could decorate it and have friends over to watch skate clips/videos. I just wanna play the damn thing don't care if its in Alpha.

I was in the pre-alpha testing a couple of months ago, and it's absolutely horrible. I am honestly hoping they work on it for another 2 years at least. As someone that's played hundreds of hours of Skate, Skate 2 and Skate 3, this is absolutely not what I wanted. The fact it'll be free is just the nail in the coffin, as it'll no doubt be a permanent unfinished state with constant updates. They had the chance here to make an absolutely iconic next-gen skate culture game - imagine an incredible looking single player campaign, set in a massive open world San Francisco - come up from the streets, getting sponsored, etc. but in a much more "next gen" way than previous Skate games? Imagine Wallenberg with ray tracing... But no... it's basically gonna be Minecraft with skateboards.

Lets add flips, and assassins creed wall running"... the game is literally called skate. Im not trying to do parkour on gta 5 custom race tracks, im trying to grind a handrail and do regular skateboarding things

I'm honestly pretty nervous that this game is going to come out and feel like an indie game like Session and SkaterXL. This game looks very rough still, The older Skate games just had a level of polish and AAA feel that I'm afraid this game wont have, but i guess we will find out when it releases

@@misanthrope5063 In my opinion Skate 4 still looks worse than Skate 3 in terms of animations and fluid gameplay. I played the “test build” of the game that leaked and it was really fun but for some reason it made me question my belief in the devs to top Skate 3. I think it’s going to be very hard to top because the bar was set so high.

Let's be honest, skate 3 already ventured into that side of skate games. Between the absurd spots and tricklining the line is still pretty well present. But the realistic aspects already look much smoother and more realistic in 4, and the weight looks right

I hope it takes some of session skate sim into its movements/controls. You feel like you're learning and doing tricks, needing to take time to learn them as aposed to just click X to jump, Square to grind ect ect. Arcade games are fun, like the original Tony Hawk. But dam the skate sims hit differently.

eah those online lobbies will prob be awesome... and no sp campaign at all. So sad to see... Copy+paste "The Journey" concept from fifa and apply it to this. That was half the thing about the skate games for me. The "grind" going from unknown to pro, unlocking gear, choosing sponsors; shooting videos. So damn fun.
