the etnies cranks/ any of their expensive shoes are designed for downhill/ enduro mountain biking. Theyre basically just water/ weather proof and have a different construction better suited towards the outdoors. But they charge a lot because mountain biking is an already expensive sport and can get away with it unlike with most skaters.

I may be able to explain the pant "tuck" situation. As a shorter guy most pants are longer than they should be for me, instead of hemming them or cutting them I just send it. I also skate in high top shoes and that is just the way the pants end up laying. Tucked behind the tongue but over top of the ankle part. Not saying it looks cool but it may explain the picture. Keep doing your thang, love the content.

Yeah my smaller homie has this issue as well. Dude is 5'4 and many of the pants he wants to buy just aren't sized to fit his short and small frame, so he buys a couple sizes up, tucks the pants and sometimes the shirts if they're too baggy.

Straye should be B tier at least; I’ve skated the suede slip ons and have seen they have a similar suede high top, and I’ve been super satisfied with the durability/flick! Most of their designs suck, but they have some solid colors (mostly black) available

éS is and has been my top teir for a loooong time. The salba rereleases, the return of the quattro, the silo, the new quattro slim that I gotta pick up. Brand is true to its core and quality just keeps getting better tbf And tbf, adidas friggin kills it too. As much as I love eS, nothing is more comfortable than adidas. The buesenitz and tyshawn are just exceptional shoes and then when you skate in them its just 👌👌👌👌👌

I'd sort Straye into 2 categories: skate shoes and hype shoes. The skate shoes (the ventura, the converse hi top clone) are actually pretty solid for the price. They break in quick and need a better insole, but quality wise you're not gonna find a better shoe for 65 bucks or less

Those exact big Etnies shoes have been around for like 15 years. I wore them in high school in the mid 00s. And it's funny you mentioned it because they had a Metal Militia version of those exact shoes which I still have in my closet somewhere. I remember them skating pretty well back then so I'm sure they still do but those fat skate shoes haven't been popular in a while so I haven't bought or skated any in over 10 years. Same for fat DC shoes.

Back in the day, eS Accels were so damn good. Nothing flashy and look like any generic shoe but put on a pair an do a kick flip and you would understand. The flick and functionality just stood out. Dunno how they are these days but I assume something isnt the same as the old ones

That was also almost 20 years ago. I still remember putting them on and doing the first kick flip and thinking holy shit that felt good. It was the first vulc shoe I ever skated.

My favorite shoes ever were a "Fallen 'Slash' Easy" that came in black or blue with a Native American print, they came out before fallen went out of business the first time, looks-wise I think they're really excellent shoes

I was very happy when vulcs became super popular again. I don't like my shoes to be too big and flashy. Give me low profile with a clean aesthetic all day over some puffy ass monster shoes with no board feel. Biggest shoes I will skate are half cabs.

I'm sitting here in my eS Accel OGs right now. I ordered another pair of Accels this morning. I'm throwing away & donating all my other shoes for more Accels (fkn srs). I'm wearing out my Accel Slims so I can replace them with Accel OGs. I am a whore for puffy Accels. I'm just glad I can skate in the same shoes I grew up skating in again and I'm at the point where I think it's just best to choose something and stick with it. I've got several different shoes these days and it feels like switching around too much is killing my feet because of the lack of consistency in the arches/sole support and so many soles are vulcanized bullshit...who the fuck decided to introduce that to an impact sport like skating? I'm 6'4" and around 220lbs right now, so I need the cupsoles to deal with extra weight. Puffy cupsoles, loose trucks, & soft wheels for liiife.
