I am a police explorer for my city and this is full of so much atrocity!! We are trained to deescalate situations like this verbally, use an intermediate weapon (ASP, Taser, Peacekeeper RCB, Nightstick or OC Spray), and then use lethal force as a last resort, but this is way too damn excessive!!! Like my instructor told us in a scenario that a 15-year old girl was holding another 15-year old girl at gunpoint in school, I would say, "Drop the gun!" at least two times, and if she doesn't cooperate towards the officer's instructions, and if the girl is about to pull the trigger on the contraband handgun, the officer would use lethal force to incapacitate the subject, handcuff the subject for the officer's safety and the subject's safety, and then call EMS after the scene is secured. As demonstrated in the video, that was a very inappropriate way of deescalating situations. And if I am a cop and I go on a call like the video like that, I would just call one officer to assist me, but use my taser first.
