Great advice. Was using a modded Bernet with a Randal on my old Longboard deck back in the days. Now im spoiled with a Gbomb bracket and a poppy font truck - but i had a lot of fun with the old bernet setup even liked the flow/surfyness more but the gbomb with puppy is just pure luxury!

Cool! I was thinking of making on of these. Jody Wilcox (the inventor of drop decks) I believe made his first boards this way.

Hi, after quite a few evolution steps i settled on a slightly modded Bennett Vector 5.0 on the front and a Randall RII with 125mm 42° in the back. I wedged the front truck to 14° and the back truck to almost 0°. I had to carve in wheel wells in the front to prevent wheel bite. Now i can use 75mm Orangatang InHeats. The board is fast and i have a lot of fun with it. Thank you so much for the idea!

@christhehiss
@christhehiss 2 жыл бұрын
@@AlessioLupo I found the trucks 2. hand for 60 €, deck is low quality 40 € and the wheels new for 80 €, plus maybe 40 € for the wedges, bushings and long screws. I had some spare bearings i use now, so total costs for me were 220 €. Add 20 € for bearings and 30 € for a better deck, then you can get a good quality solution for 270 €. You don't get the effectivity of a dedicated ldp-solution the likes of g-bomb, don't trip etc. but its fairly good and a lot of fun for a fraction of a dedicated ldp-board. :-)

Hi again. Very happy to have found your channel! Full of very interesting DIY stuff. I have some questions: The Randal trucks, 42 degrees right? Would be nice to know. With 50*, it seems hardly doable without a 30* wedge. Ever heard of a TKP set at 0*??? Can't find anything. Oh! The Landy surfskate trucks, the Bangers : can the hanger be flipped??? As it is, the rake is inward. But yes, some guy on Facebook, and the blogger at Quick Quiver, had the same thinking! Cheers, keep it up!
@SkateTherapy
@SkateTherapy 2 жыл бұрын
I wish I could play with the landyachtz surf truck, I only saw it in photo and videos. I would say that there is no need at all to flip the hanger, as a surftruck would be already way more reactive than an ldp truck. About making a 0 degree tkp I guess you never saw then because isn't practical, the amount of wedging you need is crazy, even with brackets, and will be impossible to put the bolts with ove 60 degree angle risers. Is way better to wedge to 0 degree a rkp because flipping it, it doesn't need much more angle and also because the bushing would sit almost perfectly perpendicular, offering the best work with gravity.
@mathieubelanger3825
@mathieubelanger3825 2 жыл бұрын
@@SkateTherapy Thank you for this. Right. RKP makes more sense then. I went to a skateshop and asked the guy to flip the LY Banger truck. The bushing seat sits perfectly perpendicular it seems with the pivot. Bushings seemed engaged normally. Took some photos, I'll post them on FB where you've commented too I noticed! So to flip or not?... That is the question, as to what would all that rake do if turned outward? I guess it would make it more "nervous", with a different dive (more, less?), and in return make the nose less twitchy? The problem is that they have custom bushings with only one duro apparently. If you find something... And yeah, that back truck is a 42*, as is the front truck, as I saw in the longer italian versions. But why 42* in front too when you could have taken a 50* and probably ditch the wedge riser?

That's me at 1:59 and 8:54. F$@k me I'm famous. On a side note the industry needs split angle high rake cast trucks. Rool Skate is doing something in the same ballpark I think but not as cheap as normal cast trucks.

Do you think it would work with one wheel in the rear?
@SkateTherapy
@SkateTherapy 2 жыл бұрын
Do you mean like a scooter? I think you will loose all the rebound from the back truck and also while leaning you would have some turning also from the back wheel which isn't good for pumping. But hey, would be actually easy to modify a scooter to make the experiment just for fun 🙃

@SkateTherapy
@SkateTherapy 2 жыл бұрын
