@po pi po pi Snowboarding didn't show up until the late 70's and was still in it's infancy in the 80's and the boards were horrible compared to what would be developed in the 90's and beyond. Skiing took a bit from modern snowboarding with the "shaped skis" that have come out since the boarders invaded "their" mountains.

In 1967 at age 7 , I got my first skateboard, a “ Black Knight “ model with clay wheels & open ball bearings . It taught me very quickly that concrete , though it looks comforting while riding a ‘67 Schwinn stingray on it , can be a real Bitch on a board 😬😐. Now at age 63-1/2 my Body still finds on occasion that cement hasn’t softened ONE BIT whenever I misjudge something while out at local spots doing what I’ve loved to do on 4 small wheels bolted to a piece of wood for almost 50 years . Thanks for this one , pretty cool. 😎👍

Skateboards didn't have polyurethane wheels until the mid '70s. They were metal, clay or rubber. The real experience of a board made from a roller skate was how badly it rolled. I rode mine down slopes that would be unthinkable on even the crappy open bearing urethane wheeled board I got in '77. The roller skate also had untunable very wobbly steering, the trucks and wheels you're using evolved out of skateboarding and redefined the roller skate in about 1979. It's still very cool seeing you ride it though.
