Amazing shooting. Seems it was Kim that told the judge Amber’s miss was a hit and he changed the score to hit. That’s great sportsmanship.

Kimberly Rhode has the weirdest pull call I have seen yet watching these finals. She's just like UHHHHHHHH 😂 But she's clearly up there in marksmanship so she can call it however she wants!

could the commentator's keep up with the match and what's happening oppose to talking about the old days. idk if its just me but I don't like the commentary talking over the match when its not about the match.

whats with the delay after the pull? my range is instant. that would throw me off if i had to wait 2 seconds after the call
@MotoAtheist4 жыл бұрын
Seems different for each competitor. Maybe the timing is something they get to control? Whether they want it instant on their call or delayed by however many seconds.
@goldie65793 жыл бұрын
In international skeet after “pull” the target can come from immediately or delayed up to three seconds. It’s to make it more difficult. Also speed of target is 10 mph faster than American skeet

how are the clays launched? is it random launches or does someone do it? im clueless when it comes to clay shooting just wondering.
@lsksniper19364 жыл бұрын
The clay is put into a machine which has a swinging arm so when they do a pull call it launches leaving no room for human error.
@DWhite-el4ih2 жыл бұрын
@@lsksniper1936 I think you’re thinking of trap. To answer Casey’s question, this is international skeet. Clays are launched from with the high or low house in a FIXED trajectory. There are microphones in front of the shooters that detect their call or pull. Once the microphone detects this sound it will throw a target randomly within a period of 3 seconds. BUT the targets are always thrown in the same direction at the same speed.

Amazing to think that Caitlin Conner was shooting a `German `gun (Krieghoff)..... originally a USA gun... Remmington!! . . .how things change. . . .
@maximilianmustermann57634 жыл бұрын
It's not a "German" gun (in quotes). It's a German gun. Krieghoff is a family-owned German business. Just sayin' ;)

@@maximilianmustermann5763 he's talking about the fact that krieghoff bought the patent from remington to make their shotguns, the remington 3200 to be specific.

America certainly has an advantage in shooting sports because kids can start really early and guns are commonplace and don't have a stigma to them in most places. In Germany on the other hand, if you want to shoot skeet you have to be 16 years old. If you're younger, you'll need all kinds of special permits and stuff. Gun ranges aren't that commonplace around here and you can't shoot outside of gun ranges. So parents of younger kids who would want their kids to be in skeet shooting would have to be extremely dedicated and willing to spend a lot of time and money from day one. This is why a large percentage of the German skeet and trap junior national team are literally the children of shooting range owners. It's the same with other shooting sports here. If you look around at gun clubs, most shooters started in their thirties or even later. And even the few who started early can only legally transfer into large-caliber shooting at 18 and even then they'd have to get special permits and psych evaluations if they want their own large caliber guns.
@maximilianmustermann57634 жыл бұрын
Btw. Americans didn't invent shooting sports. The first recorded shooting competition in history was held in 1442 in Zürich, Switzerland. We've had shooting guilds all around Europe almost since the invention of the firearm, and they always held competitions. Some of the oldest, most traditional German folk festivals are so-called "Schützenfeste" ("shooters-festivals") where the local shooting guild used to shoot out their annual shooting king. However, most of these festivals are held without firearms and shooting nowadays. The gun clubs that shoot modern competitions with modern firearms are more "in the shadows" because guns have such a bad reputation nowadays. It's quite sad actually. It used to be a proud tradition in almost every German village to have a shooting club with (at the time) modern firearms. If it were still that way, every small village had their own IPSC range today. But they don't. It's really sad.
@TheHiredGun1874 жыл бұрын
@MrStig691 I'll stand corrected. The Brits actually got modern sport shooting started...but Americans perfected it
