Snowboots! In Canada, we call them snowshoes. It’s so fascinating how different winter cultures have different names for them!

I always love watching your podcast, but this episode was even more special. Ow how I would love to sit and knit in this cabin, away from the rest of the world. Lovely yarn you got as well, lovely Rauma. Next time in Norway I must get heaps of this yarn, love it!! Ow and those doggies!!! Sweet.

Awh, thank you! ^_^ I was worried this would be my worst episode, so that's very good to hear! Someone recently told me there's a dutch webshop that does Rauma yarn, but didn't specify which shop. But you should still visit Norway of course. ;)

Really nice video. I am coming to Norway in the Spring to do a knitting holiday in the mountains. More excited after watching. Thanks for sharing your country this way.

Thank you for sharing a bit of your home life. Norway is on my bucket list - especially the yarn shops! Your cabin in the woods reminds me of summers at the cabin we rented ... very unplugged. But way back then it was just called a vacation :)

OMG!!! I'm SO jealous! There are two yarn stores within a few hours of my home and neither has anything like the selection in your Norwegian shops! I need to be near more and better yarn shops! Boohoo....

I'm glad you liked the video! ^_^ I love those yarn shops as well! While it's great to be a knitter in London, you just can't beat the yarn availability in Norway.

Who can blame a girl with sooo much temptation! Wonderful yarn shops! (I have to travel 50 miles to find one half that size.)A beautiful place and cozy cabin, thanks for sharing. Feel better soon. LOVE the mittens (of course as a beekeeper I would.lol) BTW they call those skeps the basket bee house of long ago. Your doggies are adorable! Norway really knows how to sell yarn, even in the supermarkets! Love that!

It's crazy that there were even more yarn shops I didn't have time to visit. Wish I could've gone to the huge one that opened a year ago. And there's a really unique one way out in the countryside full of imported luxury yarns which I've never been to!

Oooh, brilliant! :D Given Rogaland is a very sheep-rich area, a lot of the great yarn producers are from in/near that area. I think you'll have a lot of fun. :P

I am soooo intrigued by your wooly Norwegian yarns !!!!! They seem so wooly and beautiful. Most of my Family traveled to America from Norway...so I have a lot of Norwegian in my blood :) I think a trip to Norway is in my near future....and getting some of that scrumptious yarn is as well. LOOOOVED your vlog/podcast Eli

Really? That's so cool! Then you should definitely get hold of some Norwegian wool. :D I recommend Finullgarn and Lamullgarn by Rauma and anything by Hillesvåg! As if that wasn't obvious from my video, haha! :D Thanks for your lovely comment! I look forward to your local yarn club! ^_^ Given the focus on natural fibre, I figured it ought to be my very first yarn club.

ughhh i want to learn to knit norwegian patterned sweaters soo bad!!! i live in oregon in u.s and no stores or people near me sell anything like this. i think it would be wonderful to bring a norwegian / oregonian style into a sweater. but i have never knitted in my life. i just started watching informational videos and just bought my first needles (: my goal is to be able to knit beautiful norsk style sweaters. since they dont come around easily near me. why not make them. right? Tusen takk for videoene dine!

I loved watching the dogs in the beginning. I'm a dog lover too, I have a jack russel terrier. And ohhh so many yarn shops !!! And you bought so many Rauma. As I mentioned in an earlier podcast of you I just bought Finullgarn for the first time, I hope It will soften up a bit, first time for me knitting with this yarn. Overhere in the Netherlands it is expensive ;-) so you are lucky you can buy it in Norway. And than the rest of the podcast filming in your cabin, that was so awesome !! I realy loved watching that and enjoyed it ! I think the five skeins are perfect for the fade shawl. I do however want to mention the Australian designer Ambah O'brien, she also have many patterns with several colors in a shawl. I'm currently knitting the Bambara wrap and realy love it. okay, ... now onto the next podcast !! I could say Happy New Year, but it is July now that I watch this ;-)

thank you for showing me your beautiful Norway! your podcast is inspiring, especially the yarns you choose. I thought of this podcast when I viewed "Knitography" podcast, by an American/Texan expat who now has her home in Norway near the places you mention, I think. Check it out?
