Forest or not the TPM & ROTS duels were way better than what they did on ACOLYTE.

Don't know what to expect from Skeleton Crew. The starting vibe is too close to home. Even though mundanity should exist somewhere in the Galaxy Far Far Away it shouldn't look like US suburbs. Let's just hope this will be only a short intro and not be the setting for at more than parts of the first episode. If they stay there longer it may test even my patience with Disney/LFLs antics.

Idk why people have such a problem with it. Andor kinda normalized it and it’s super weird we’ve never ever seen like a Neighborhood in Star Wars because we are always in the middle of nowhere

@@creed8712 I'm still excited to see the show. But I found the suburban setting was way more earthlike than anything in Andor. Ander kept an exotic feeling throughout I thought. Its architecture, planets and cultures felt real and from a galaxy far far away. The trailer intro not so much. But I think the S-Crew series will be better as a whole and especially when they get off world. But I still get the feeling of Narnia, that they step from our galaxy to the adventure worlds thtough some magic gate. And I don't fancy that Idea... But I'll reserve judgement until the series' done.

@@jimpe8591 like I said, Andor kinda normalized it. The architecture of a lot of it was from London if I recall

@@creed8712 I did not intend contradict you. I rather agree with you but on a matter of magnitude. I know the original buildings used in Andor well. Architecture is both a hobby and related to my profession. And they did a great deal to make the entirety of the cityscape environments more fantastic in the series. Although fantastic in a dull imperial way. :) Think Soviet brutalist. And there has been suburbs in Star Wars before as well. You see it in Mos Espa and while in a distance in Theed, and in several animated episodes. And of course these examples are exotic to westeners, but maybe not to tunisians or italians to whom they may look mundane. But neither of those environments was overly exploited in hundreds of now cliché 80s Spielbergesque kids adventure stories in movies and on tv (non Wars movies I mean) familiarising them to a global audience. This trailer made me think of ET and Goonies in a slightly discording way. The bottom line though, is as Jimmy and Jason says, it takes you out of the fantasy that is Star Wars. I also agree with Tolkien in this matter who disputed with his friend CS Lewis (Narnia) about transitioning the story from our world to the secondary world where the fantastic resides which this S-Crew trailer very much reminds me of. Although even Tolkien himself did try that approach first in his early drafts of Middle Earth, published posthumously by his son Christopher as The Book Of Lost Tales. He discarded it though on the grounds I myself agree with and I think the Hobbit, Lord Of The Rings and Silmarillion became so much better for it. You should not make the imaginary world too familiar if you want to maintain its integrity and sense of wonder. But still. I think this is a very minor hangup. And perhaps seing the final result in December it will feel nothing like I project it now.
