I'm thinking "Secret IGBC (banking clan) Vault World" (one that also produces a whole society of bureaucrats and number-crunchers as a bonus/side hustle). Imagine, a whole planet that's cranking out math nerds while mostly just serving as a giant safe, and no-one remembers the combo to open it by the time the show happens.

Note, they were not using republic credits, they were using OLD republic credits, as in knights of the old republic time period, which was before the high republic, which means like at least thousand years ago. Another thing that clues to this is the datapad with all the stories about the jedi and sith fighting, since remember, the sith were considered extinct for milennia, so the stories on that datapad must predate the rule of two to depict jedi and sith fighting each other.

The mural inside Fern’s house was really interesting. We get a brief glimpse at it when she’s talking to the droid before her mom sees her. It’s got all sorts of people on it, perhaps it symbolizes the founding of the planet? It’s got one of Neal’s species, a strong female human, and some others. Very interesting to say the least.

One Point that Has Been Either Missed, or Glossed Over: That 'Pirate Ship' Was Buried There a VERY LONG TIME! Long Enough for the Forest to Completely Cover It Up!

Also the fact that the pirate ship had trees growing on top of it and no one knew of it's existence suggests that it crashed a long time ago.

Here’s a theory for you to ponder. What if Jude Law’s character is from At Attin, but what if he was the kid who failed his assessment test, got sent to the mines, and managed to get away like our young cast did. From that point became a pirate and was the one who spread the rumor about this mythical planet of treasure. He worked in the mines so he knows what’s there. And he heard the name when the kids were in jail and also wants to get home. But, like the kids, either doesnt know how to or, does, and was the person who got the ship the kids found, stuck there. Maybe they kicked him off the ship when they got the location locked down, and didn’t anticipate how hard it would be to land with the barrier. Just a theory…
@jeffreycarman2185Ай бұрын
This story would have a nice bit of symmetry to it. Perhaps Jude Law’s character was recruited to the Jedi order, and that’s how he escaped, but then washed out of the Jedi Order due to his criminal tendencies?

Did he yearn for the mines

Thought on that....not sure about the whole 'mine' situation. In the scene where the kids were talking about what they wanted to be a couple of them mentioned being an "analyst", almost argued about being an analyst. I'm thinking there's something going on there about what an "analyst" actually is. Their parents may be "analysts" and may be doing research or something shady like that.

My possible theory: At-Attin "closed its borders/doors", during 230 to 229 BBY, due to the collective threats, horrors, terrors of The Great Hyperspace Disaster, Marchion Ro and The Nihil (and their deadly Occlusion Zone that imprisoned major portions of the known galaxy, inc. The Outer Rim), The Drengir, The Nameless, and The Blight. Plus, I've been saying it for 2 years, now: The Onyx Cinder starship looks remarkably like the seemingly crash landing (on approach) new starship first seen in the 2021 Trailer for the video game, Star Wars: Eclipse, which takes place during the 400-plus-years-long epoch of The SWU known as, The Golden Age Of The Republic. Coincidentally, At-Attin was historically known as, The Crown Jewel Of The Republic. Within Phases One and Three of The High Republic, Republic Chancellor Lina Soh has promulgated a series of Great Works throughout the known galaxy, inc. nods to The Outer Rim. "The Great Work" that has been referenced in, Skeleton Crew, seems to align with those concepts and acts of old. I believe that someone...or something...has decided to deceive its people in to believing that "everything's A.O.K." in the galaxy; and that The Galactic Republic is running smoothly like it has been for 1000 years, with The Jedi Order still protecting the people and The Force; and the citizens of At-Attin only have to do their part to keep the wheels of democracy spinning. As someone who is knee deep in reading Phase Three and the last part of Phase Two of The High Republic Multimedia Initiative, The Nihil's imposing security grid of destructive satellites, which make up the deadly, imprisoning Occlusion Zone, could very well have had its technology thwarted, nicked, augmented, and repurposed by the overseers of At-Attin as a form of security and cover from the rest of the galaxy. Perhaps, for centuries, star maps have only recorded a dangerous nebula, where there used to be At-Attin. Maybe some were led to believe it was destroyed or that it simply disappeared from orbit due to Marchion Ro and The Blight? And, with that possibility, We haven't even touched on WHAT exactly the TREASURE is on the planet. Horded fortune? Unique natural resources (a la Beskar and Kyber crystals)? Knowledge? Technology? An unusual, singular connection with The Force (for instance, are there Jedi and Sith Holocrons on it, or even a lost Jedi Temple)? This is where the likes of Hondo, Phee, and Doctor Aphra would happily come in to the proceedings... 💠💰 Yes, I'm most anticipating the 4 kids (esp. Wim) finding out from Jod Na Nawood that The Jedi Order was exterminated almost 30 years ago (by decree of The Republic and a hidden Sith Lord, resulting in a Clone Army murdering them), that The Jedi barely exist within the galaxy in their time, and that The Republic had been converted in to The Galactic Empire, eventually resulting in a galaxy-wide Civil War, and that a New Republic exists, with its Rangers (Omega, darlin'...where are ya?) protecting and patrolling The (very) Outer Rim Wim, Neel, Fern, and KB reside in. I also suspect that At-Attin lies along the borders of The Unknown Regions. That would make things even more precarious for Our Heroes and Heroines, given all of the machinations and disturbances going on in that area of the galaxy...inc. Thrawn's return and campaign. I really truly hope We get to see these 5 new characters appear in the rest of The Mandoverse, inc. Favreau and Filoni's respective theatrical releases (Jon Favreau originally included the 4 youngins in his Season 4 scripts for The Mandalorian...hope they've been secretly included in The Mandalorian & Grogu). However, I'll tell you this: IF this series, in any way, is trying to supplement the disastrous Disney Sequel...NO WAY, JOSE. That would almost ruin my intrigue for all of this new lore and world-building... MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU, MATE. 👍

I think the " Great Barrier" is a holo field projected from the space mine looking satellites, as they're placed in a grid above the planet. Going with your question of how long they've been hidden it could be as far as when Darth Nihilus was in power as he was known as the planet eater. Makes sense to hide your people from that, also Star Wars has been nodding to the past a lot lately with The Acolyte showing Darth Pleagus

I think you are all wrong. The stranded pirate ship, The Onyx Cinder, landed there to evade persecution. The pirates established some kind of local shield to not being discovered, the Captain becoming the first governor. As time progressed, the settlements expanded, as did the shield until it spanned the entire planet. A legacy being carried on even though none remembered as to why they started the shielding.
@CaptainMyCaptain33Ай бұрын
I think the planet is invisible from space, hence the strange “satellites”, or red dotted grid pattern in the sky and the aurora. It’s likely why the ship crashed on the planet, as they never saw it. And why nobody can find it. But who knows.

I think the Palpatine theory is the most likely theory. @AR-io8fvАй бұрын
Honestly I kind of wish something like Skeleton Crew was episode 7. Fern is already a more compelling character than Rey and she could’ve been the secret Palpatine. Wim would be the Boyega that would eventually become a Jedi. And Jude Law’s character could be Han/Leia’s son who is going undercover to take down Maul’s pirate syndicate.* Only by the end of episode 7 does it open up to bigger stakes and we and the kids realize their mentor is a Skywalker. *or maybe he’s Han’s son but has run away and is flirting with the dark side and crime which is why he became a pirate. Or maybe he’s lost his daughter (fern) and is using the pirates to eventually get back to At Attin. So many ideas and yet we got a knockoff OT instead for the sequels.

They really should do something in the Mandalorian movie where Luke & Ahsoka go into The World Between Worlds and just somehow undo all of the sequel trilogy because it is pure garbage. Seriously, I don't know anyone who's willing to defend those 3 dumpster fires. A couple of things are really out of place. If it's a Sith workforce on At-Attin, why would they even allow story books glorifying the Jedi like the one the kid has? Also, why did the prostitute (that's clearly what she was) at the spaceport ask " Are you children? "? Like seriously, have you never seen children before? Do you not understand that adults don't start off fully grown? Were you never young? Were you never a child yourself? Were you born a full grown lot lizard always hoein' around the spaceport?

Skeketon Crew is pretty good. We'll see how it goes, but a return to some kind of space adventure is incredibly refreshing after recent instalments. I think it has already blown Ahsoka, Kenobi and Book of Boba Fett clear out of the water. This might be the kind of show people actually expected from a traditional Disney project. Tried and true methods of classic, successful storytelling. No singing, dancing space witches just yet, but there's good reason to hope such nonsense is over and done with, once and for all. Just wait and see. You might be glad it didn't die by the end of it.
