I can't tell you how many times we could have won some of our best games if they bank a little bit early instead of always trying to go for 15 or invading when it wasn't necessary. But I will also admit, not every player does this. there are some good people but they are very hard to come across

I never build to it. But if my team is sending 2 large ones and I have 5 and happen to be near that bank, sending a small to assist immediately is infinitely better than grabbing another 10 motes, by which time the original 2 large blockers are dead. Therefore invalidating my large blocker because the enemy team will be by the bank waiting to nuke it.

@@firenzarfrenzy4985 Yeah it's part of the reason my Clan does Small, Small, Small, Medium/Large. Took a bit of practice but we do notice that the Taken Goblins and their chain invulnerability beams stall the enemy team enough to be a hassle and shaving off a few banked motes.

@@godknightomega Your clan? Brother I'd be happy if I had a duo to do gambit consistently with. The only gambit advice I ever got was from a veteran friend when I just joined the game. "Let the enemy bank first. That way they have 0 motes to drain at the start." Nothing after that. I'm Dredgen 4 now lol. Warlock for insane mote play or hunter when I want to be a slimy invader. Not proud of Xeno w Golden Gun but hey, makes gilding easy

I have gilded Dredgen like 5 times, got the Reckoner title back in the day and always kept the 4 armor sets in my inventory for a quick swap during Gambit Prime if needed... If there is something that boils my blood beyond anything are those that play exactly like That Guy™ For that I learned two things: always stay close to the portal if I'm planning to invade / go for the 2 motes left for the Primeval, chances are by the time you're banking them... That Guy™will be busy trying to reach 15 motes

This is brilliant, and there's so much more you can do Tom: 1. Banking first at the start of the match i.e. before the other team, and then getting all your motes stolen; 2. Trying to shoot the primeval before taking out the envoys; 3. Stealing everyone else's motes...and then dying and losing the whole f**king lot; 4. Going for the high value target when the rest of the team is doing primeval damage; 5. And, most importantly of all, ignoring the blockers and Drifter's warning, and dicking around while all your motes get stolen!

Gambit isn't suppose to fast pace, planning, or even that difficult due to the AI buff yet they did it anyway so people take so long to bank because then killing the Blockers over "Could" take them a while when freaking Two Knights, and Two Goblins takes way longer when the Goblins defend the Knights its not that hard!

They are also the ones who just cower and hide when getting invaded even if they have no motes, just wasting time for the rest of the ones who have motes. Like He-Man says, if you have enough for primeval, summon it - anything that isnt a knight wont last any time at all, and even knights will get shredded by a competent enemy. Every wasted second is a second you could be damaging the Primeval, and only a ridiculous lead could even slightly make it worthwhile. Don't be That Guy and tempt fate, or an invader will send those precious motes you were hoarding straight to the trash bin.

Context though right ? If I'm on 12 motes, we're miles ahead & I need a large blocker for a bounty then maybe don't stress out if I'm shredding the last couple adds to get the motes. Just keep the bank clear, stuff any invasions & I'll be there ASAP. Doing a bounty is the only acceptable reason for over-moting btw, but since you can't usually ask someone why they're not banking then maybe give them the benefit of the doubt & watch their back instead of raging. Either that or just go get the 2 motes yourself, whatever works for ya :D

Allowing for bounties is generally fine if we have enough of an advantage, but if its a close game or the mote guy is taking too long, there will be angy. Bonus points if there is an invader rattling about and all your hoarding is for nothing when he goes straight for the guy with the most motes. The thing about this stereotype is its a stereotype for a reason. Bad players are a fact of life with Gambit - saying its for a bounty only goes so far when you can knock out a giant blocker in the first half of the match rather than right at the end. And no bounty warrants more than one large blocker iirc.

I actually run darci as my heavy on my bow build. At the start of the game, DARCI is really good for psyching the opponents into thinking they're going to get sniped. It's also a really good rapid-fire sniper. It gets like 6 bullets from the heavy crate. On certain maps, I might switch to ghallarhorn instead.
