I do photorealism so it genuinely amazes me when I see artists not using references. My drawings rely on them because they have to look realistic, but I envy artists who can draw straight from their head without having to worry about making everything perfect.

I was just like you, and my answer to that is to try yourself. Those same thoughts is what inspired me to pick things back up and seriously do art. It'll be a long journey but just remind yourself what you do it for and apply yourself.

Thank you! I’m self taught! Basically through trial and error and just drawing as often as I could. As I got older I started using references which helps a lot. Also following other artists with styles that I like boosts my motivation!💕
