So what caused the knuckle to break. Did the ram push to far ?
@TheAndrewBailey3 жыл бұрын
I think its just many years of a hard life. Kyle's Jeep was driven pretty hard by the previous owner before the refresh. That part of Chevy Kingpin knuckles are susceptible to breaking. Its a weakness in the casting. I have since had a few people message me and say that is exactly how their knuckle broke.
@offroadspecialties73833 жыл бұрын
Those stock knuckles on Kyle's Jeep took a beating for years. That YJ back flipped off a mountain before I rebuilt it to what it is now. It spent a long time on 12" wheels and 18" wide pit bulls. Lol

We love this. And our viewers love this, but would pulling the entire axle housing out and doing a swap have been quicker maybe? I can't tell if they would swap or not but I know a lot of it is similar. Not a criticism, because I'd have been right there with you thrashing, just wondering.
@codyslaughter46783 жыл бұрын
It may have been faster in a shop. But good luck hauling a 650lb axle housing through the woods up the trail and trying to put it under another jeep with no level terrain. If they had a little more experience with kingpins they could have had the knuckle off of there in about 25 minutes. Learning experiences all round on this trip.
