Love the sketch, and when you pulled that grey out I knew it was going to be so good 🤗! I am loving grays now for some reason 🤣. I may show you later some stuff I have been sketching on and it has surprised me. I have been doing it most of the days and having fun. It has been such a blessing. I have been only taking 10 to 20 minutes and it’s awesome. Thank you for inspiring us to do something creative and showing that it doesn’t have to take long. Loving the kaweco sport that I got in. My noodlers ink was not cutting it and I got SketchINK and it works like a charm. I so needed this video today and I can’t wait to see what you do next.

Greys are so awesome. There's so many greys and it's always great at making vibrant colours really pop. 10-20 mins sounds like a good, not daunting time period to sketch. Can't wait to hear how you bring the Kaweco Sport + SketchINK combo around. (I didn't enjoy Noodler's either - they keep bleeding). Thanks for always stopping by!

Nice sketch! And you had to be quick also because of your flight! I am changing the size of my sketchbook too. Just bought a Hahnemuhle 100% cotton, 14 x 14 cm. Which is a nice in between size for me. I use it for my monthly urban sketching meetings. Have a nice flight!

That's such a cute size! And the square format must be interesting, too. That must be such a great sketchbook filled with such good memories

This was fun, Becky - but also nerve-wracking, cos I knew you had a time limit!!! The last time I was at HK airport was in September 1992, on our way into China, so a lot has changed since then! I'm curious about why that table is there! Are there others along there. too? There didn't seem to be a lot of people about, either. But it all looks very sleek, efficient and modern!!! I hope you're having a marvellous trip and not too jet-lagged, and also itching to know where you are going / went!. 😊

The tables have some charging ports if I remember correctly, or maybe it's also for people to perhaps look out with a beverage or a treat? No seats though, so I think it's not meant for people to linger for long :p and 1992!! This is a newer airport. They closed that one because it hit capacity. But I heard it required some skilled maneuvering to land in Kai Tak. I wish I could see it for myself!

@@beckyisj Becky, we were pre-warned about the flight path into Kai Tak, but nothing, absolutely nothing could prepare us for the reality. We flew so low over the city that we were on a level with apartment block balconies! I've flown into some tiny airports on my travels, some, just a runway jutting out into the sea, but the feelings this one invoked, in a full Cathay Pacific plane and with people's homes right beside us, with washing hung from the balconies was ... indescribable! The first time, we flew in and out of Kai Tak, the second time, only in, as we flew home from Beijing. Justin Hayward has an article on it called "Why Was Hong Kong Kai Tak Airport's Approach So Challenging?" and some superb pictures to illustrate it. Hope you are thoroughly enjoying your holiday! 😊

I’m stumped as to where you are going. Obviously southern hemisphere if it’s winter there. My first thought was maybe Melbourne Australia. It’s spring here in Eastern US and I am soon heading to France with a sketching friend. We’re taking a watercolor workshop in the Loire valley and then sketching our way independently over to Brittany.

I ended up going to the US! It may not be winter but it was definitely colder than HK. Maybe because it was near freezing point so I took it as winter :p hope you enjoy your sketching trip! That sounds so wonderful and a great memories in the waiting!
