"Wow!" That was my first thought a second after seeing the initial painting. I continue to be struck by how pleasing your interpretation of scenes is. Your art is a joy to look at. I loved seeing the difference between the two versions of the town and I felt that both were great. I hope you are continuing to paint regularly, and that you will be able to post videos more frequently!

This is marvelous, Brenda. Thank you for all the tips and the comparison between papers with the same subject. Absolutely fascinating to see the differences. I would love to hear more about your watercolor palette, both how you have it set up and which one you’re using. I love the way the mixing wells are divided up and the way you’ve placed your colors. It’s as inventive as your painting.

Oh, this is so fun. Playing with papers is a blast, and your paintings are lovely. I’m having trouble finding a white pen that performs well. I’ll have to try white ink, and hope that it does the trick, since my white sharpie blurps everywhere. Thanks for uploading this!

TheStarhorse1 Try a white Uni-ball Signo pen - broad tip. It works pretty well - very opaque. I buy mine at Michaels.

Stephanie Denny Thanks for the suggestion. I’ve had the worst luck with white pens. My Sharpie either won’t write at all, or leaks a pool of paint on my art, and the other white pens just do nothing. I’ll give your suggestion a try.

I just subscribed to your channel. This was interesting. I have seen rice paper; but, it looks so fragile. I have yet to fine a white pen that can cover smoothly. I have a bottle of Higgins waterproof super white ink and it does a good job; but, a fine or extra-fine Sharpie or some other brand would be easier to use.

Donna, True rice paper is fragile. Check out mulberry paper! It’s very study 😁Have fun!

Anne, It was a cheap give away someone gave me...no brand name on it. A small water brush it would act the same.

Thanks for the tips on using toned and rice paper, etc. I'm anxious to try the toned paper but haven't been able to buy any yet. But, I think I will apply tea to my white watercolor paper to see what happens! Have you ever used texture medium? If so, any tips on that.

The Canson Mi-Teintes is traditionally used for pastel. It's available everywhere. www.cheapjoes.com for sure.

@@brendaswensonwatercolors thank you. I couldn't find just a beige or tan color on Amazon only earth colors which seems like it would be similar? I wanted to make a sketchbook out of it since it has high cotton content and its only like 13$ on Amazon. Cheapjoes is also great but... shipping. And unfortunately I'm poor people lol
