Sketchup texture on curved surface

Thanks for the video, but how can you avoid stretching the texture? If you notice the texture stretches out as it reaches the edges, I'm having this issue with applying projected materials onto organic shapes, any advice?

Thank you for the tip! However, I appears to work when painting the object, as soon as it deselected, it goes back to the 'faceted' texture. Any ideas why this may happen? Thanks in advance!
