Ever try looking on 3D Warehouse for handrails and notice most don't fit your staircase? That's because they're specific to each stair set...So watch as Eric walks you through the process step-(literally in this case)-by-step to create several different kinds of rails.

Nice demo! I noticed that the slope of your cheek wall is not the same as the slope of the stairs. Better not use it as a guideline. 🙂

Good catch. Yes it depends on where the cheek wall returns to at the top and bottom so worth checking that and stair nose. Thanks for the feedback.

You can use the nosings of the steps themselves to snap a line to establish the rail slope.

Very nice, but It doesn't seem that the check wall is at the same slope as the stair slope in your first example...

Yes. The concept is the same but you're right that the nose could be another/better way to determine the handrail slope.

How about if we need a support in between the slope and not have the joint look unnatural? Especially in case of a tube type railing?

Just make the support separately and add it. Like a cylinder.

That's what happens when a tech guy tries to play architect. The railings are not legal either. Oh, the life of an Architect. Good demo of follow me. I draw railings the same way, just more complex with more layers of paths. Your demo is good to teach laying out elements with single lines and guidelines as well.
