In this lesson, we’ll take you through all the high-yield information you need to know about Salmonella for the USMLE Step 1. Using visual mnemonics and memorable storytelling, we’ll weave a tale of lazy cooking, seabirds, and gastrointestinal distress. When we’re done, you’ll never look at a salmon dinner the same way again, but you will know that Salmonella is gram negative, encapsulated, and acid labile. And thanks to the power of Sketchy, you’ll never forget it!
As a bonus, there’s a glimpse of the OG logo for SketchyMicro-our graphic design team has improved over the years!

Sketchy is the #1 visual learning platform brought to you from the creators of SketchyMicro and SketchyPharm. Wow, there are comments from like almost 9 years ago and some from a few months ago. Love how so many generations of med students have Sketchy to fall back on for support in learning and actually enjoying the process. Thank you Sketchy, from all of us❤🥺

Wonderful,I am already at Dr. and have nothing really to study for. I always love mnemonics and I watch these almost every morning. Comment: I do believe that Salmonella is associated with sickle cell and osteomyelitis however I believe that S aureus is still the number one cause of osteomyelitis and sickle cell patients.

I see you drew the seagull and the chicken with three claws: type 3 protein? Also instead of the salmon swimming in H2O , it swims in H2S Which is dark and murky. That's how i remembered it. The cages for facultative intracellular organism are brilliant!

YAAAY!!! This is such an awesome coincidence!!! I study using the exact same way too! mental images and little animated characters that I create in my head and are all over my room-on the bed,my desk, carpet, walls, lol! I do the same for pharma (drug names) &trust me once you see the name of the "character" you've created on a question in the exam, it all comes back in a blink of an eye. My friends get astonished when I narrate literally the entire lecture to them. This definitely works!Thx guys:)
