SKF helps develop many types of axleboxes for different bogie types. We design for increased reliability and safety, as well as downsizing to meet weight restrictions. In addition, SKF offers package solutions including monitoring of relevant operational parameters like speed, positioning, temperature, vibration and more. Choose from advanced SKF wheelset solutions - including bearings and bearing units, axleboxes, sensors and condition monitoring solutions.
Drive system bearings from SKF are designed to cope with variations in speed, temperature, load, vibration, shocks and electrical system properties. Traction motor bearing units are designed to handle in-application contamination and humidity. Customers can choose from a number of variants including hybrid and insocoated bearings.
SKF lubrication solutions provide everything from precise, clog-free lubrication to reduced wear, friction and noise.
SKF bogie condition monitoring solutions use systems and advanced algorithms to help detect incipient damage and allow sufficient time for repairs before failures occur. Predictive maintenance increases reliability and safety, and helps reduce maintenance costs, life cycle costs (LCC) and total cost of ownership (TCO). SKF offers wired and wireless condition monitoring systems.
Sustainability has been a long-time focus for SKF: In the ‘business we make’, for example, by offering solutions to our customers that can reduce friction and waste, as well as improving fleet efficiency; and in ‘the way we make business’, meaning our efforts to consistently reduce our own environmental impact within processes and production. Our goals have been approved by Science Based Targets (STBI). SKF is also recognized by Ecovadis with a platinium rating for 2023.
