It's real tough to put up with extra weight. It does work sometimes though. Only light weight is not the answer either.

One comment, the skis have titanal, not titanium, titanal is an aluminium alloy commonly used in skis and does not contain any titanium

I would not consider 2kg as a heavy ski, quite the opposite. in fact. Yes, heavy for a touring ski but for skis that are meant for riding hard has to weigh at least 2 kilos to work properly.
