Have loved watching your videos. It's always a special time to ski with family. I don't know if you will see this (or have time to respond), but it seems you ski at Park City a ton and would love to know the best way to traverse the mountain (as a second-year skier)? I have done mostly greens and can get down pretty much most blues (just takes longer). I never really know what Green/Blue means since most mountains all treat them differently. Once again, thanks for the videos - they are fun to watch.

i went skiing today and i better comment before i crash.. what a great day;) i would love to spend time with poppa joe and i would love to spend time with the racers at Copper Mountain.. a little with my background is that i started as a mogul skier and then got into racing.. i started back when there were straight skis and i would imagine that is when poppa joe started.. back then i learned to have soft skis, especially soft tails and then to lean back on the tails and that was for moguls and powder.. also to pretty much keep the legs together.. when i got into racing i was taught to separate the legs for better balance.. this would be the conversation that i would like to have with poppa joe.. the one thing that i would say with this that i noticed today while i was skiing is that if my legs are separated it is easier for me to "catch an edge" on the crud.. i think what i was getting out of what poppa joe was saying is if you have most of your weight (90-10 or 80-20) on one leg while that both legs are close it is easier to shift the weight from ski to ski and a lot easier to jump turn.. is that kind of what your take was on it? i am going to try it..

9:51. Couldn't resist, eh? 😁 Two things... 1: I guess your dad put it eloquently why the knobs don't know what they are talking about with "A-frame". It only matters if your weighting and riding that uphill ski, putting you in the backseat. We used to teach stem christies back in the day, where you initiated the turn by stepping the uphill ski out and weighting that inside edge. I still use it from time to time in certain situations, so to the idiots who think all A-frame is bad, shove off. 2: So glad to see you ski with your parents. It's been 6 years since I've been able too and with them and I don't know if I ever will again. Enjoy these times brother and Merry Christmas.

I live on the east coast and try to get better at skiing each year. Could you explain what the difference between 106 and 115, 110 what does it mean.
@justinbayola Жыл бұрын
it is the measurement in Millimeters of the ski width under your foot. so 106 is 106mm under your foot
@kathygoff1 Жыл бұрын
thanx, I was also wondering what it meant. 👍
@LucasCatania17 Жыл бұрын
it is the measurement of the ski width underneath your foot. typically, a more narrow ski like a 106 would be a better option for groomers and all mountain skiing, where something like a 116 is going to be a wider ski, provide more float, and be better for powder skiing
