"Youth Gone Wild" is the debut single from Skid Row's eponymous debut album.
Its music video received heavy airplay on MTV; however, while the album itself was a major hit and went multi-platinum in the U.S. and other countries, "Youth Gone Wild" as a single only reached #99 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and reached #20 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks.[1]
The song was re-released as a single in 1992, with a live recording of "Delivering the Goods" (from the band's B-Side Ourselves EP) as the B-side; it charted again at #22 on the UK Singles chart.[2]
"Youth Gone Wild" has been covered by several bands including HammerFall, Sign, Norther, and Asking Alexandria

This song has a special place for me. Back in 1988 when this came out it fit me, especially the first verse. Turns out I had a well know reputation back then. Not only in my hometown where if kids my age didn't already know me, they had heard of me. I found out a year or so later that people from the next town had heard of me and even some as far as Annapolis had also. Yes I grew up in Maryland. I think I was more surprised whenever I'd meet someone for the first time and they told they had heard of me. I did some crazy things in youth.
