I love our gehl. all hand controls + foot throttle. all the bucket controls on one stick. and the driving controls on the other

+Kyle Ackley That's called ISO pattern it is by far the most efficent pattern to use

Ryan I have rented one of these for a day and loved it. I love the hand controls it just takes time to get used to.
@c.p.excavationandlandmanag40538 жыл бұрын
Our bobcat has the case style controls which is what those controls are and we love them. Never tried foot controls being in a wheelchair but the hand controls are fairly easy to get used to.

My boss owns a 320d, we use that thing for everything, nice to have a skid steer around.
@Deere8245r8 жыл бұрын
we have 8 Deere's. Couldn't be happier with them. Any of them past the 317's series is pretty much bullet proof. I'm even posting this comment in a 318E

We like our Deere skid loader, we use it for every thing from cleaning up the lot to picking up rocks out of the field
@michaelalan15468 жыл бұрын
I would agree with onelonelyfarmer on the track machine. As far as John Deere itself I am the public works director for the town of green mountain falls, Colorado. We own a 2012 323d John Deere skid steer for the last couple years and have no complaints. We use it for everything from snow removal to working on our 6 plus miles of gravel roads. Great machine, can't go wrong with either machine tracks or rubber tire.

So handy around the farm we bought a new case 1845C In 2000 and we like it for cleaning out the barn yards and loading the manure spreader
@thill25706 жыл бұрын
I own a case 1845c 1968 and it has been to the shop once since I have owened it and I bought it 15 years ago I don't know how many hours it has because the hour Gage broke but I work on a cattle farm and the machine is wonderful

we run a bobcat a300 with pilot controls. love them and the machine. the all wheel steer option is nice too.
@walter29904 жыл бұрын
I have a set of steel tracks for my wheeled JD 320 skid, here in FL. They work great when it gets squishy around here, and not too hard to remove them. Remove 2 bolts in each track & drive away. Putting them back on is a little harder by yourself.
@redbudestate8658 жыл бұрын
We run a case 1840, it's 50 odd hp, and it's biggest fault is it isn't heavy enough, tons of power, tips forward with a heavy bale.
@TheRealJesseStoltzfus8 жыл бұрын
The harvest crew I ran with had a 326D. Best skid steer you can find.
@TheRealJesseStoltzfus8 жыл бұрын
The way that theres is set up is the left stick controls forward, back, and turning, while the right is bucket pitch and raise/lower.

we've got a John Deere 318d it's a wonderful skidloader. it is our only loader on the farm
@petep88286 жыл бұрын
We just got an L228 just like the one yer vid, super nice! big upgrade from our old LX865! Get the machine that fits your needs, NH has been getting a bad rap lately, but that’s most behind them, but a JD and CAT are great machines, if weren’t getting a NH it would most likely be one of the latter!
@jfoster318 жыл бұрын
we have had two gehls loved them, now we are on our second deere, we had a 326d now we got a 326e. One thing about deere they are a heavy machine, seems like we get stuck easier with them and when we are picking rock in the field with the deere, seems like you don't have enough hp in loose dirt.
@keithjeasser39188 жыл бұрын
I like how you say we when you dad is the boss in all fairness lol

@ryanboguslawski15998 жыл бұрын
I personally would go with bobcat again only because from my experience of using all kinds of skid steers for 8 years you just can't beat the performance of a bobcat compared to other loaders, I own a t300 , s650 and a 743 and I think you Travis and your dad would also love a t300
@jdboy23978 жыл бұрын
Hand controls are really nice we have 3 skid steers on the farm I work at and 2 of them have hand controls.
@brandoncreech88108 жыл бұрын
The hand controls are very nice. Way better than foot controls. Just switch it to ISO rather than H pattern. You'll like it a lot better
@it8998 жыл бұрын
i would suggest looking at wheel loaders as well. we had a jd 250 skid steer at work, when we upgraded to the jd 244k wheel loader it was such an improvement. we actually load faster with the 244 than we did with the 250. i liked the wheel loader so much better that i bought a kubota r420 instead of a skid steer for around my farm. i have a few vids on my channel of the wheel loaders you should check them out.
@petercifelli81357 жыл бұрын
You should try switching to "ISO" controls, left stick does all your steering and right stick is the bucket controls, much faster and easier to run. I learned in machines with foot controls and was apprehensive about switching to joysticks but I liked them better immediately. You should also check out the new Bobcats, they've made everything easily accessible for maintenance and have the best protection around the auxiliary hydraulic lines, I currently use a T650 and an S650.

We have a 318d and like it pretty good except when it comes to winter there a pain to start and we have preheater on it. Use should definitely consider going to E series instead which start much better and more reliable!
@chargermopar8 жыл бұрын
Once you decide on which machine is the best deal you will not regret having two skidsteers. My advice is get one bigger than your 773 then you can be more versatile.

theres a switch in the cab you can change the controls to "ISO" pattern which is a lot better for hand controls
@52komatsu8 жыл бұрын
A little advice. Swing out doors suck. The boom has to be all the way down or up to open it. Getting out of it with the boom half way up or down can be a problem. If you have a Kubota dealer in your area and you don't mind tracks. See if they have any used SVL90's.
@mikecowan57867 жыл бұрын
I own a millionth edition bobcat t650. MSRP 70k. I got it for 50 and they threw in a beast of a bri-mar trailer a bucket w/ teeth and I bought a jackhammer normally 8k for 5k and a snowblower attachment. the millionth t650 is like a rocket ship you don't feel bumps no dirt gets in the cab since the cab is pressurized it's got real quick tach bunch of screens with gadgets and gizmos up top. suspension seat literally the lambo of skid steers. chrome exhaust there's diamond plating on it. not 1 problem with it and I had it for a year so far.

I do love the john deere skid steers but after i ran a JCB skid steer i couldn't go back specially with the side entrance on it.
@dankruger28907 жыл бұрын
I don't know about JCB, there specs are way low compared to the others. small engines, low hydraulics and heavy. But they do look like quality is a high and each machine is well thought out.
@evangood63687 жыл бұрын
ya i agree with that but i find it safer and easier to to get out if you have to get out with your bucket lifted like with an auger or something big on its forks.
@connorrains19346 жыл бұрын
We have the worst dealer support for JCB here but they make some nice loaders for silage
@vertzfarm40238 жыл бұрын
we only run gehl on our farm they work exelent for us and there tough skid steers and very reliable
@drosdikmr78 жыл бұрын
hand controls are great once your used to them. Why not get a tracked machine? They are a much smoother to operate no bounce like on a wheeled machine and more lift.
@calebbisson45778 жыл бұрын
john deere is definitely the way to go especially with those controls. don't get one with drive on one stick and loader on the other stick those controls suck but the split ones are great
@jeromemiller52628 жыл бұрын
It's electric over hydraulic controls, should be able to adjust what each stick does. Last one I drove, left hand was bucket controls and right was drive.
@jackeike26758 жыл бұрын
+Jerome Miller You can switch the patterns between H pattern (the one they are using) and ISO which is like what you decribed. IMO the ISO pattern is way better

bodenstiner implements John deere in Decorah Iowa might have a skidsteer you guys might be interested in
@kubotaman68638 жыл бұрын
I've driven that same machine. Lol love that dealership
@dankruger28907 жыл бұрын
Get the same controls the other machine has if your gunna keep the old machine. Matching controls works best. You are on the right track, make sure you try out three or four different brands with the same controls as your old skidsteer. Every manufacture has its benefits. Also do your spec numbers before you go look and a machine so you can compare. I just bought a 226d cat and I tried out four other machines from different manufactures. and cat was slightly ahead of the rest. but I liked the Gehl, John Deere, Case, and Wacker . Cat had the best financing and spec numbers for my needs
@geauxcat34088 жыл бұрын
Seriously get one with tracks. They have travel speeds just about on par as ones with tires and they handle terrain better and they're more stable carrying loads across uneven ground.

Myself, I really like Deere's skid loader. I've run Bobcat, New Holland, and Case. I always found those three to be kinda jerky versus the Deere. Just my 2 cents. Onelonleyfarmer has a 332 Deere that he seems to love.

@jimlisterman21387 жыл бұрын
Made In USA.....Owned by Doosan (Korea).
@mikecowan57867 жыл бұрын
Jim Listerman bobcat is usa. Headquarters and where they are built is USA the only thing with Korea is their parents company DOOSAN. But bobcat independently operates from it self doosan knows bobcat knows that they are doing that's why they sell more than cat kubota case new Holland and deere combined. bobcat is the first skid steer all American parts built by hand. deere uses foreign parts and alot of robots. bobcat is superior in every way. bobcat has a pressurized cab. alot quieter than deere inside and the bobcat I have you don't even feel bumps.
@jimlisterman21387 жыл бұрын
Korean ownership is NOT the same as USA ownership. Bobcat has greater market share based on dealer network And, more years in the business. Not superior any longer. I worked @ Ohio's largest dealer. Have you sold Bobcat's ?
@mikecowan57867 жыл бұрын
I own bobcats and I'm friends with the owner of the largest dealer of bobcats in the north east. Bobcat independently operates it self. Doosan doesn't over see it. They just merely own them as a subsidiary. I would bet you anything that a bobcat would out perform in any test against another manufacturer.

How easy is it to remove the door and plastiglass ? Very nice to have when its too hot or too cold.....but for some jobs I am the "spotter" for when I use my simple 553 bobcat for much more than using dirt. For example I move full logs and cut logs using a grapple hook...for the driver to hear my directions is an important thing.

I think you'd like a 100-130hp tractor with a loader better, that way you can run to the field with the bale trailer to pick up bales, and use it as a raking/mowing/baking tractor or whatever else you needed Just my two sense from a Michigan Farmer

My opinion the only good case skids are the xt series. Stay far away from the sr and sv machines, they just aren't dependable and a pain to work on. I'm a mechanic for a dairy farm and we've put 10,000 hours on two 75xt case skid steers with some expected repairs. Our sv250 on the other hand is in my shop all the time and it only has 5000 hours
